That should give you an indication if this is systemic or not. It’s one community at a time for a long time now. You only have a modicum of safety if you’re living in the city metropolis but even that needs only a tinder to ignite the spark of violence

Bandits are not wholly idealogically driven. There’s an economic component to it as they are killing and kidnapping all faiths but I’m yet to hear of whole predominantly muslim communities wiped out.

That greeting is a standard one lots of Americans give US military since their sacrifice is constant. Then, like Dayo said, it is often extended to essential services like firefighters, police, healthcare workers during or after emergency situations.
