Many think the Igbos are larger than the Ijaw, but that is a misconception. The Ijaw nation spreads uninterrupted from Ore on the way to Lagos, all the way to Calabar — from Furupagha in Odigbo-Ore to Ibaka in Obolo-Oro, Calabar.

These are the Ijaws many do not know, yet they exist in their millions, carrying our heritage across regions.

Sowore is not ijaw, he only came from a local government with ijaw majority. If you know lagos very well, and someone tell you his local government is Badagry, there's a high probability for you to think such a fellow is ogu/Egun because they're the majority. However, that might not be true because there're awori people in badagry too. This two tribe don't have similar language, food, culture etc but they share same local government. I hope with this point you understand how sowore is mistaken as ijaw which he's not.

Why this misinformation in a public forum?

Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe was a proud Onitsha son from the Inosi Onira clan.
Both parents held from Onitsha.

Infact, Dr Azikiwe was made the Owelle of Onicha Ado n'Idu.This title made him the traditional prime minister of Onitsha.
A non indigene can't attain to that height.


Again, the current governor of Rivers state hails from Opobo
And so speaks Igbo as his mother tongue.
Ijaw ( Izon ) language is mainly spoken in parts of Bayelsa and Delta.

Sowore's dad traces his ancestral roots to Ijesha land, you obviously aren't aware of that fact (though you can argue that the Ijaw claim ancestry via the maternal line and you'd be right)
