Re: A Musical Genius From Nigeria – Obama Pays Tribute To Fela by FreeStuffsNG:
Fela is an Egba Yoruba from Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, Nigeria. Abeokuta is the cradle of western education in Nigeria and West Africa.

Abeokuta is known for education, Yoruba hospitality and cultural elite groups like ogboni, authentic indigenous African textiles (like adire, aso oke etc) , foods (like lafun, ọbe gbure, kokoro Egba, Ofada rice etc), agriculture, art, wars and the progressive development largely financed and influenced by the Saro/Aguda Egbas ( most of the English and Brazilian Yoruba family names like Fela's family) gave Abeokuta a headstart in western education that made Abeokuta to produce numerous 'Firsts' and Greatest Africans and Nigerians.

Fela came from a long line of art/music geniuses and social activists and that really shaped him. He is the first cousin to the Nobel Laurate, Prof. Wole Soyinka as they share same grandfather.

Prof. Soyinka's mother is the younger sister of Fela's Dad.

Their great grandfather is the author of the iconic Egba Anthem.

Abeokuta Grammer School is their family sanctuary.

The story of Fela is incomplete without Abeokuta and his family wink

If I may ask, why are you paying tribute?

Unlike Prof Soyinka that’s in bed with bad governance, Fela through his music actually fought government in favor of oppressed masses with everything he had . The family of Isreal Ransome Kuti with exception of Olikoye that went rogue, defined to the world what civil rights activism means and their name is forever etched in the annals of gold in the minds of people that want a fairer, equal and better society for humanity different from the current cashtivists we have today like Deji , Reno and co who are motivated by hunger

With or without Obama’s tribute Baba Fela is a great musician and the pioneer of Afrobeat, Obama should keep his tribute is not as if he actually mean well for Africa Nigeria to be precise, he was the sitting president in the US that funded a campaign for regime change against GoodLuck Jonathan for refusing to pass gay right, he funded Bokoharam etc via USAID in case you are still in doubt Senator Scott Perry’s testimony reveals it and since I heard about this I look the United States differently from what i thought they were

If Obama were to try to visit, the amount of security they would need might seriously inconvinence fans ...so either he watches a live stream , or forgets about it.

That's why once you become presido of any country, nothing like normal retirement. You can't even go and gist with normal people self. Up till today, Obama still has secret service protection. Same issue celebs have ...which is why a celeb cannot just go and say he or she wants to go watch their favorite musician...their security go say no, not safe.

Macron of france has visited the Afrika shrine, but he did not go during the felabration. It was a private visit.

Traitor? Just because you have been brainwashed to believe that he's the reason why Jonna lost? Pathetic reasoning.

Obasanjo is also Egba. Wole Soyinka and Olikoye Ransome Kuti belong to the sane boat of fighting for their bellies and never for the masses.

There is no concrete evidence to support the claim the Obama administration funded Boko Haram through USAID,if you have any evidence you can let the world know or forever STFU.
