The article should be named "Nigeria's 10 Fancy Military Weapons". Because why would a country have all these weapons and terrorists would be running free, hoisting flags?

You forgot to add Bayraktar TB-2 armed UAS operated by the Army
It is very capable however it cannot be compared with the rest of the equipment listed especially in firepower.

even in its own class (drones) The wingloong II performs better

Those things cost money too
Dollars gor that matter

The funniest part to me is when they said they have 6 attack helicopters
A whole country !!!
6 attack hellis
Just Pathetic !!!
You got it wrong
it was stated that Nigeria has 6 T129 attack helicopters not 6 attack helicopters in total.

6 more T129 are being planned for order.
NAF has over 30 attack helicopters made up of Mi 35M, Mi 24, AW109E, Super Puma and Mi 17 and T129

Lies lies and so much damn lies. None of those weapons are top of the range in anyway. Nigeria and the author of this article is a joke if he thinks any of what he listed above makes Nigeria's armed forces deadly in any way.

The Mi-35m which is a russian built combat helicopter was formerly regarded as a capable platform until mere 500 dollar drones that Ukraine cobbled together, made mincemeat of it. The Mi-35m costs within the range of 8 million-12 million dollars.

The T-72 is a joke of immense proportions with its terrible design that basically turns it into a cookbox that cooks off when hit due to how its shells are stored. They've not fared too well in Ukraine and Russia has all but abandoned them.

The J-17 thunder is a semi decent Chinese made fighter jet that as recently as a couple of months back saw action when Pakistan and India went at it. Pakistan did say that it used the J-17 to score direct air to air kills against a couple of Western made fighter jets operated by India. India and the West didn't refute that so it stands to say that the J-17 is an attack platform that will get the enemy to sit up.

Computer simulations conducted by the US puts the J-17 a step or two ahead of A and B block F-16s. Though there is no realistic data on how both platforms will operate when faced against each other in the real world.

If Nigeria had any where near decent leadership, we could be needling the US for a couple of Apaches and export variants of the M1 Abrams tanks. Those are game changing weapon platforms that the US has provided to Egypt and South Africa.

We call ourselves the giant of Africa but all we have is a catapult compared to what South Africa and Egypt have. Na mouth we get. Workings we no fit show.
You are telling a bigger lie with the bolded.

South Africa doesn't operate the Abrams tanks nor the Apaches. they are not planning to either.

the SA military has been redundant over the years. Nigeria has more than 30 aircrafts in order list and once delivered. these equipment will outmatch that of SA's specifically in Air power. however, none of our equipment are designed or purchased to go head to head with another country but mostly for attacks on insurgents.

Insurgency is also a difficult war to fight.

No, but let's use our brains to filter the things they throw at us about us. We can think them through and do our own research

Ezugwu MRAP was designed and built in Nigeria.
There are a couple of other products from Nigerian Army Engineering unit. There are really talented Nigerians there building formidable military products.
You know the challenge with the country is that military is a cash cow, so most things won't work.

Wing Loong II UAV shouldn't be the only drone in Nigeria's military arsenal. These are important in modern warfare. NATO for example seems to be realising this as they’ve been using missiles costing millions to take down relatively cheap Russian drones that cost a few thousands.

I like the sound of Ezugwu MRAP though.

Of what use are the weapons if insecurity has been at an all time high and is still ravaging the society?
True strength isn’t in firepower but in how effectively it’s used to protect citizens.
You wan make dem use these weapons within the country?

You don’t need to twist what I said. Nobody asked that weapons be turned on citizens. My point is simple, possession of advanced weapons means nothing if insecurity remains unchecked.

The issue isn’t about using force recklessly, it’s about strategic deployment, intelligence, and accountability. Having tools of defence is one thing; using them effectively to protect lives is another.

You simply made a point that doesn't tally with the original post.

Lemme educate you briefly
These weapons cannot be used internally because of the destruction it causes.

Note: these terrorists are within and are hiding amongst us so using any of these weapons internally will definitely be catastrophic.

Do you understand?

What can you do for your country? what you guys do all year long is just to blame leadership on this & that.
If you were giving the contract to procure modern armament, i am most certain you are going to steal/cheat for your own personal benefits.
Better go and find something doing with your life than coming online blaming leadership.
Mind you, its only countries that engage in all sort of warfare are the ones that usually update their military/Tech on steady basis.
Why should a country like Singapore/Switzerland have time for all that, they would rather focus on civilian infrastuture & development.
Wetin concern Iceland & CostaRica with army.

Nothing meaningful to say as usual, always resulting to insult as form of defense when the brain isnt fully developed.
Dont have time for pipsqueaks.
