Only in Nigerian movies I have seen mothers and adults playing characters of secondary school students with big boobs, massive yansh and blooted stomachs. Once they plait all back hairstyle they think they look like girls.

One young producer payed me to play a cult leader in a University film. After reading the script, I called him for his account number and sent back his money. He asked me why? I told him that I am older than him and have sons in university. If you want me in such cult film, turn me to a mafia boss not a student.

We talk about Nollywood as if much is expected from them.

Free them abeg.

The days of their glory are well past. The problem still lies in the fact that any field in Nigeria that is suffering more badly than others is simply because those who populate that industry are not the smartest in the society but are those that failed at some other things.

There were times, those days, in which Pete Edochie, Nkem Owoh, Patience Ozokwor, Sam Dede, Sam Loco, etc., were not failed projects of other fields but ventured into acting as their passion and therefore developed a TALENT from that.

All these actors are simply boys who failed in their bid to become the PA to their local government chairman or ladies who didn't do well in their ashatata business. Nothing concerns them with creativity.

If you are are good actor you should be able to play any role older or younger.

It is all about body size, looks, and the acting itself.

They always forget that the movie is supposed to portray real life events.

They just want to tarnish our image on all fronts.

Na una dey encourage mediocre productions.

How will a wrinkled bald man with pot belly act primary school pupil in a flash back?

They can always get kids to act those past times.

Re: "Only In Nigerian Movies" - Don Digidi Dunhill by nedekid: 4:39pm On Oct 25, 2025
Lol, atleast our own is still better than the Indian movie industry. Indian film where a lady will be hit by a car and thrown to the air, a man living in ibadan will be notified of the accident and gets to catch the accident victim before she hits the ground.

Now we understand why you are not a successful actor. Infact, you have no business in acting because you don't even understand the meaning of the word "ACTOR"...you better go and learn handwork.

The foreign counterparts character matches real age.

He has a point though. Hollywood should make it real as much as possible especially age stuff instead of using white powder on the face to appear as an elderly person

They actually do not have time for "thinking abilities"....

As long as it will help the movie sell and bring in osusu.

They will continue using faces that'll bring dem "good market"....

What do you expect from an industry that shoots an entire movie within 3 days with 400k budget where all their gatemen and cooks must be clowns.

It sounds funny but there are elements of truth in what he said.
Re: "Only In Nigerian Movies" - Don Digidi Dunhill by oz4real83(m):
We already know movies are fake and make-believes. But nollywood makes them faker and more unbelievable angry. I once watched a nollywood movie where a character without memory loss "forgot" a girl he dated for fourteen years, all because they broke up due to family issues, she entered higher institution, studied medicine and became a medical doctor who attended to him when he became sick shocked shocked

I miss the guy so much on our screens.

He even released a song way back then if I am correct around 2000 - 2002. I think it was titled "Today na Today". The chorus of the song went thus - Today na today you go talk who give you belle, today na today. Nigeria!!

They think that we dont think, so they churn out anything and call it movies.

Whatever you are presenting should be filled with suspense, matured, and quality contents.

Indian drama like the ones that make our Nigerian women to burn oil and pots in the kitchen is because they don't want to miss an inch of the show. They also don't present India, a country with a very high population of poor people than Nigeria in bad light. Indians can never beam their cameras on the ghetto and millions of beggars in their streets, something Nigerians do often in their movies, demarketing Nigeria.

The Nigerian movie industry has lost steam a long time ago. The music industry has taken over.

It’s not about good acting. It’s about looking for a young person to play that role. Professionalism should be the watchword not mediocrity

If you don't know him, it's either of two things...

You were not born when he was on our screens or very little then

Or

You never watched music videos of the late 90s or early 2000s.

I have known him for at least 25/26 years.
