I Never Asked My Wife About Her Salary - Pastor Tunde Bakare by Daejumong(op): 7:53am On Oct 26, 2025
Pastor Tunde Bakare: “ Before I got married to my wife, she was working with Union Bank with a salary of N375. Mine was N710 as a lawyer . Out of my earnings,I pay my tithe and offering, pay my mother N50 every month, give my wife N200 for housekeeping. I never asked of her salary. Whatever was left of my earnings, I would manage it for transportation to work and back.”

*Culled from his autobiography,The Last but definitely not the Least *

My thoughts
- Pst Bakare is a good son and husband. He took care of his widowed mother and made sure his wife was treated as a queen! He didn’t ask to share the bills 50:50. He didn’t ask her what she was bringing to the table. He didnt bother about her salary.

- Pst Bakare said he manages the remaining money to work! This is deep! Women would give their lives and unalloyed loyalty to any man that is selfless and puts her and the kids first. They would do anything for such a man! Little wonder they have a successful marriage!

- Finally,I encourage men to emulate Pst Bakare’s style in marriage however in a case where the man is genuinely financially incapacitated, the woman should honourably and respectfully take over!

This is not for a feminist wife.

You can't be practicing feminism and expect to be treated like a traditional wife.

But he asked enough to know that her salary was 375 naira, so that he can moderate his house expenditure and leave some for her quietly grin

We know what kind of man you are Sir..
Your kind are the very sly ones who pretend not to care what their wife makes, but quietly tailor their house expenditure to force their wives to contribute as well without expressly asking them to do so undecided

I always remind Old people that 1950 is not the same as 2025

Whatever you did that period of 90's
Worked only for that period of 90's

The world has changed drastically
So your ways and approach must change

What worked in 1950
Can never work in 2025

Old people will be telling you stories that just don't make sense in our today's world.

There is no single template to happy marriage. However it works for you stick to it, be sincere to yourself and your partner. A lot has changed in our society and so many good values that held our homes together are gone.

That was when naira had value and there wasn't the kind of inflation, necessities like data, cable tv, and needs like education which was free then, that we have now.

Moreover, revenue from tithe and other sources of income isn't mentioned here so this isn't the full picture of his finances.

Don't let anyone whine you o. Men take care of yourselves else you'll die and life will go on. Do not allow anyone manipulate and gaslight you to servitude. Be wise

What is good about this god of men who said he was the 16th president after Buhari’s term, as his reward for helping Tinubu and APC in 2012 to play politics with our destiny over fuel deregulation and subsidy removal?

The Buhari he helped make president with Tinubu and APC are responsible for the devastating devaluation of our Naira despite promising otherwise.

Is that a scam or just their cluelessness, corruption and incompetence?

World Bank offers Nigeria forex rate advice, as Tinubu eyes N200/Dollar rate

April 23, 2023

The President-elect said he would work with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to *bring down the exchange rate to N200 in his first term.*

“My administration will collaborate with the Central Bank to harmonize the fiscal and monetary policy to achieve immediate stabilization of the value of the naira against the US dollars and other currencies and in the short term, strengthen the naira by boosting the supply of foreign currency and moderating demand.

“The short-term goal is to achieve a naira/dollar rate of 300 naira/US$ and gradually achieve a less than 200 naira rate over the next four years, Tinubu stated.

Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has promised to ensure that the naira would be equal to the dollar in value if voted into office.

NAN reports that Buhari said this on Monday during the south-east presidential rally of the party at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

“It is sad that the value of the naira has dropped to more than N230 to one dollar. This does not speak well for the nation’s economy,” he said.

He urged the people to vote for APC, noting that he would ensure that corruption was tackled headlong if elected.

Re: I Never Asked My Wife About Her Salary - Pastor Tunde Bakare by BlackPantherxXx: 9:25am On Oct 26, 2025
I actually read the article.

I pay bills 100%.... so a wife too should do household chores 100%.

Na wetin many lazy Nigerian ladies no wan hear. Laundry - drycleaner, Cooking - caterer, Make-up sef - lash artist, EVERYTHING you go say "outsource" and then complain when the man outsources the Bed-Karate to younger and fresher ones out there grin

Abroad, there is no housemaid you will maltreat and use as cheap labour. NO ONE will accept $200 / month = 300,000 naira to do chores a wife should do.

Yes abroad, many couples split bills... so you sef as man must be ready to enter kitchen, split chores.

Btw, who indoctrinates women into this cult of holding tight to their own money while squeezing every available dime from the man? And what do women actually do with their money?

He didn't just start today. From the text,he started when he was 1/10 of your current position.
Of course,if you cannot do it from a small position,it will be hard at whatever level .

His salary was 710 naira and he gave his wife 200 naira for house keeping? That's less than 30% of his salary. For a whole month? This means he expected his wife to add up and augment from her salary. Simple!
Re: I Never Asked My Wife About Her Salary - Pastor Tunde Bakare by Image123(m): 9:31am On Oct 26, 2025
This is actually the other extreme sir. BTW, you somehow knew your wife made N375.
If a man and a woman are no more two but one, there's nothing to hide or keep away from themselves. They belong to themselves, that's Bible.

Why should a husband ask his wife salary?

Except the wife is not useful in the house
