I enjoy ironing my dad's clothes but I always feel deep anger when my mum asks me to iron her clothes.

Unlike dad's clothes that are just straight, mum's clothes have many intricate designs and pleatings that make ironing harder.

Any other person ever feel this way?

I hate it with passion. It's one of the ways to "punish" me.

I had a roommate one time... guess his hobby. yeah ironing . He would ask me to bring clothes for ironing whilst doing his and would iron for hours.


It's from him I understood and learnt that ironing is an "art" and they are technics to it and not just rubbing or running the pressing iron on the fabric.

When he finishes ironing you would be marvelled at the result... I never saw someone iron with so much passion.


I thought it was a weird hobby!

If you iron women clothes, it would look the same with carrying blocks in a building site. You will suffer from pains and go find paracetamol.

First when about to iron female clothes, you wont even know where to start from, because its too large and overwhelming.
There was a day i was ironing one, i couldn't find the neck, couldn't even differentiate between the back and front!

I hated it too, man. Thank God I'm past that phase. It was super frustrating – no matter what you did, it just didn't translate onto the fabric. Especially with designs like the one you saw posted up there.

A lot of female clothes especially those with pleats and beadings are not supposed to be ironed. They should be steamed.

With the wrong tool, it is normal for you or anyone to feel frustration.

U are not hating u just lack discipline to see things through. Its a warning sign that u should take serious cos it can affect many other important things in ur life thats not even related to ironing

You are not alone. I even hated ironing my own clothes. By the time my sister adds her clothes, yawa go gas. I hated it back then but I couldn't say no, and she knows how to beg you until you say yes.

Omo, this reminds me of my childhood till my senior secondary school days. My mama beat shege from my body whenever I no iron this kind of dress well.

That is because being married is a slave job.

Women na wahala and so are many things associated to them.
The worse of them are those of their clothes with stones and alien designs. You don't know where to start and where to end.

As for me, ironing is not for me hence all my clothes are Polo and T-shirts or Jersey.
E don reach 5 years I wear clothes that requires ironing 😂

What about ironing blazers or suits?

My dear, marriage na serious work ooo.
Marriage, in fact, is a serious business and not for everyone.

Is it dislike alone. In year 2002, I was employed as a Manager in a dry cleaning firm on the island. My boys damaged a lady's cloth with pleatings while ironing. The lady went to report at Lion Building. The DPO sent boys to come and arrest me. I told them they did not have arrest warrants. So they went away. Before they returned in full force, I bolted away. Later I was briefed on how the policemen dealt with my workers badly. As I ran away, I went to report to the owner of the business. It was later we knew two facts, first the lady wanted N5000 refunded to her. Secondly, she is going out with the DPO. Few months after this lady used her power to deal with my boys, she got her reward in multiple folds. He peppersoup got burnt to the grounds. She had to start all over again. This life!!!
