Interpol Arrests 83 People for Alleged Terrorism Financing in Nigeria and Other African Countries

Eleven Nigerians are among 83 people arrested by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) for allegedly financing terrorism through money laundering.

In a press statement, Interpol announced that 83 people were arrested across six African countries, and 160 additional individuals linked to the crimes have been identified.

The arrests took place between July and September as part of Operation Catalyst, which aimed to detect and disrupt financial flows and schemes connected to terrorism funding and support networks.

Of the 83 arrests, 21 were related to terrorism offenses, 28 to financial fraud and money laundering, 16 to cyber-enabled scams, and 18 to the illegal use of virtual assets.

I am not sure how this happened but Nigeria has turned into a hotbed for terrorism sponsorship and terrorist sympathisers.

Just go through any topic relating to the middle east and you would see numerous terrorist sympathisers. Its a shame what this country has become

They should try them anywhere else but in Nigeria.

If you send them back here, they will be released as "repentant sponsors of terrorism"!
Even if they go back and are caught again, they will be released. Some.might even end up as senators!!!

Ours is the most "strangest" country in the world.
Nothing makes.sense here. Government spends trillions fighting an insurgency that has gulped the lives of twns of thousands but can not name the sponsors of such insurgencies!

Many government decisions are so audaciously confounding that you will struggle through a lifetime to wrap your head around the reasons why such decisions were taken..

Not sure if there are any laws of that nature..
It's more about people in power doing whatever they can to massage the repugnant egos of some diabolical political blocs in the country.

No names? The real terrorists highly likely to be among the arrested are well known that is why their names are being concealed

Someone like Ndume who has been associated with these groups on numerous occasions still holds a political position in Nigeria.

Fact is these people don't even believe in the religion.. they just play God with it .. Good riddance ..
