Way to Go... since Nigeria farmers and Nigerians in general love to inflated prices and make life hard for their fellow citizens... imagine a bag of maize selling for 120k a year ago. |

Nigerian farming has a yield problem. Beyond the yield problem, there is also a greed problem. |

While the drop in prices of food items is a good things I also has some serious implications. For instances if the businesses of the farmers fail most of them will default on their loans which will in turn impact negatively on the bottomline of the banks. It also means that going forward most banks will not want to give loans to farmers |

Good News, it defy common sense why our food is far more expensive than imported ones. Garri don crash . Only Tinubu fits greedy farmers and middle men 📌💯. I am voting for Tinubu |

Someone who campaigned on Agbado economics have resorted to importation to the detriment of local farmers. The same way they resorted to negotiations with bandits as a way of solving insecurity. They always choose the easy and temporary route that will lead to more problems in the very near future. Overrated bunch! |

Racoon:They will farm next year. I also lost money, but it's necessary for change. Should Nigerians suffer becuase me and my few farmers lost some money? If food prices are high, even us farmers are not enjoying the country. So let the price crash. The only thing is that let the price of farm inputs also crash. If it doesn't, then don't farm and buy imported food. This will make the price of the inputs to drop due to lack kf patronage, at the end everything will balance out. But this is necessary. We can't have few people milking millions for selfish reasons.... what I lost will not kee me, but will save many families |

People are dumb oo, I'm seeing comments up here and I'm surprised, these guys up here, making silly comments and supporting the farmers, are you guys dumb or just didn't bother to read. Farmers harvested their farm products, they decided to keep (hide) the products thinking price would shoot up so that they can continue ripping their fellow Nigerians, FG intervened and crashed the prices( prices of foodstuffs kept going down). Now the farmers are complaining that why would the prices of foodstuff drop. Some foolish people that made comments up here are saying FG did bad. How people brain take dey work for goodness sake? |
| Re: Farmers, FG Disagree Over Drop In Food Prices by Kingju: 11:51am On Oct 27, 2025 |
Kobicove:It'll affect greedy farmers, as at last year, bag of maize was sold for #120,000. Who in his right mind won't sell off at that price, they were waiting for it to shoot higher then they'll sell. Is that not greed and wickedness, since last year they kept their products waiting for it to go higher, this is a year already, why didn't they sell it off when it got to 100k or even 90k? If you do crypto trading you'll understand the importance of holding and knowing when to let go of that holding |

...the effects of policies have far reaching life-death impact on people. Maybe the government should buy this seasons harvest from farmers at a good price, at least subsidise the production of food. The millions they spent on the palliatives could have sorted out food production |
| Re: Farmers, FG Disagree Over Drop In Food Prices by ElevationD: 12:18pm On Oct 27, 2025 |
This year has been quite horrible with most farmers. The weather was quite uncooperative to add to the cost of production. Many farmers faced serious losses. Again insecurity is another problem. Insecurity is not abating with the efforts of government. Hopefully those who embezzle funds made available for security infrastructure can have mercy on citizens. |

This complain from farmers now, I don’t really understand, When they were busy making huge profit even above 300%, who did they rejoiced with. Infact Nigerians are Nigeria’s problem, not necessarily the leaders. It seems we forgot so easily when a bag of rice suddenly went up from 7,500 to craziness that’s year, even those that had massive stock @7,500 that year sold them all @ the craziness price, they did not rejoice with me. Now they are all crying, from the farmers to the retailers. You can all cry me all the oceans created on earth for all I care. |

donproject2:You can now see without further doubt that Nigerians, not necessarily their leaders, are there own enemies?! The concept of Comparative Cost Advantage is alien to the some people. |

donproject2:My brother I tire o. The cry about 14 months ago was "hunger o" "ebi npa wa o" now prices are coming down and some people are complaining again. Though I agree there should be some synergy between the farmers and the government so the farmers will not be incurring loses. |

Cutting off the head is not the cure to a headache. That middle men are hoarding produce doesn't call for govt to result to importation putting Nigerians farmers out of work to empower farmers in countries they import from. There can never be a Political solution to an Economic problem. Let's solve our problems internally rather than always looking outside. Buhari closed the boarders, he wasn't a fool. Tinubu Opening Boarder is a Betrayal to single policy dearest To Buhari's heart. Muhammadu Buhari Loved the Nigerian Farmers, can we say the same of Bola Ahmad Tinubu... |

So these farmers no want make price drop? Make we continue suffering? Chai..dz ppl wicked o...for profit sakes? If the government can provide some cost advantage with agricultural inputs like Urea, DAP. etc., I believe that the farmers would be cushioned against these worries. |

With this food prices crashing I started loving Tinubu. The federal government should continue to import the food stuff to every nook and cranny of the country |
