[i]Lakurawa: Over 10 Fulani Killed in Reprisal Attack in Kebbi

No fewer than 10 Fulani herders have been reportedly killed in a reprisal attack on Sunday at a settlement in Tilli community, Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

According to local sources, the attack was launched following the killing of a vigilante member allegedly by Lakurawa bandits, which community members mistakenly blamed on the Fulani residents in the area.

Eyewitness: “It Was a Mistaken Reprisal”

A resident who spoke to The Telegraph said the reprisal was carried out “in error,” explaining that the Fulani settlers were wrongfully targeted after the vigilante’s death.

“They thought the Fulani were behind the killing of the vigilante,” he said. “They attacked their settlement, killing over ten people and injuring several others. They are still searching for more bodies in the bush.”

He added that the Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Senator Umar Tafida, and the state leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association visited the area to commiserate with the families of those killed during the attack.

Police Yet to Confirm Incident

When contacted, the Kebbi State Police Command Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, said he was not aware of the incident but promised to investigate and provide details later. However, as of the time of filing this report, no official update had been released by the police.

The latest violence adds to a growing list of communal clashes and retaliatory killings across Kebbi and neighbouring states, where insecurity involving banditry and farmer-herder tensions remains a persistent challenge.

Bunza Kebbi state. This should be somewhere around yauri ,fakai ooh my people. Nigeria bad government don't know religion. APC imports and system have left everyone a victim irrespective of tribe and religion. Elrufai, Tinubu, Buhari and associates took away the peace for power. Last manageable peace was from Yar'Adua and Jonathan. APC imports started work from Boko to chibok saga all for public condemnation of that govt in power. Today they cannot tame their beast every one is the victim more bandits new terror group. They only hold genuine protesters and freedom fighters. When ever they arrest it's mainly genuine people not bandits, they now give allocation and adminstrative powers to bandits and terror groups.

Lakurawa are Fulanis and they attacked a Hausa community killing vigilante and the Hausas went on a reprisal attack against the Fulani attackers. This is what happened.

The minority Fulanis who controls political power in the North always scramble to cover up the ongoing mini civil war between Hausas and Fulanis, meanwhile the Hausas wants the world to know what they're passing through in the hands of Fulanis but the Fulanis starting from the Sultan always change the narrative

I hope someone will not later said that they are Christians killed in Kebbi state by lakurawa

Unfortunately, this is the side of ugly incidents in some other parts of the country that hardly get reported until the "mistakenly" killed Fulani herdsmen's relatives seek revenge (and boy, do they exact revenge in the most brutal and gory fashion) then it becomes news headlines for days.

Not to justify the killings and counter-killings but it's common for media to overlook incidents of communities killing innocent Fulani herdsmen only for the same media to give wide coverage when there's a retaliation.

There can never be true peace without justice!

That's the most unfortunate consequence of this incident. A cycle of viciousness has just been initiated and till it goes full cycle over and over and over and over and over and over.... it'll not end!

Members of the community where this accidental killing took place should just find somewhere else to relocate to and pray not to be discovered because they won't escape what's coming...
