Top & Bottom 10 States By Total Fertility Rate: Number Of Children Per Woman by DrMB(op): 2:45pm On Oct 25, 2025
The latest Total Fertility Rate (TFR) data reveals a massive geographical gulf in Nigeria's demographics. TFR is the average number of children a woman is expected to have in her lifetime, and the difference between the Top 10 and Bottom 10 states is staggering.
How should state and federal governments adjust their policies on healthcare, infrastructure, and education to plan for these dramatically different population growth rates?
Which policy change is most urgent given these numbers? Say it if this data surprised you!

We need to divide this country so that those who want to become impoverished by having more children can do so comfortably.

Continuously thriving on having children with no planning for them is the basis of the North and banditry.

One day everyone will answer his father's name

Comprehension is a huge problem in Nigeria.

What concerns education with the natural capacity for women to birth children based on their demography?

I think the northerners eat more fertility-induced food or even live pro-fertility lifestyle than some of the southern states.

Come to think of it, they have the highest number of natural sex enhancing products than anywhere else in Nigeria. Seems the region specifically plant trees, fruits, vegetables solely for sex and fertility.

It's the northern part that will finish this country with uncontrolled birth rates.

Be ye fruitful and multiply says the Holy Book
Go and watch how Elon Musk is lamenting on X on how the white population is declining and is encouraging more child births, I thought the world is overpopulated why is he complaining. Or is there overpopulation myth only for Africans not themselves.

What are the causes of low birth rate in most Southern states as against the North. Our weather is cool and temperate. How the men less likely to make love to their wives or what?
Re: Top & Bottom 10 States By Total Fertility Rate: Number Of Children Per Woman by oluwaseyi0: 3:52pm On Oct 27, 2025
The real question is how they are taking care of the kids not just birthing like rats

It's more a matter of mentality than fertility.
The average muslim mindset is to have a large family and polygamy. It gets worse with poverty and lack of education.
National orientation and ministry of education are sleeping on the wheel.
