Let NUPENG and others build their own refineries too and stop screaming Dangote. Very selfish set of people

No every greedy one are now calling him Monopoly

My problem with the story is the failure to mention the name of the man.

At least, it will enable us say more.

Most people mentioning Monopoly are only doing so out of mischief. Each time they mention Cement and you counter them with the names of other brands, they crawl back into their hole of shame.

So where the money go?

As a consumer Dangote's monopoly favor you, favors our economy. The world is run by monopoly, a few big corporations own most of the companies under holdings, most of you are ignorant...HSBC, Goldman Sachs control most of the world's hedge and investment holdings, Facebook and Microsoft now controls most of our communication systems. As long as capitalism exists, winner takes all, this world is run by a few 'winners'

Most of you using words like it's the first time you all heard it, monopoly in Dangote's case will be a blessing because he will refine Nigeria crude, refine the petrol, save us the need to buy dollars to import and export so we earn dollars, which will boost the naira.

Pipelines is the best way to transport petroleum products.

The pipelines were shut down alongside the refineries to create room for dangote

When was the last time the pipeline was used for the transportation of petrol? What about blasting of the pipelines for bunkering

That’s is how it is done all over the world!

Big players get government incentives and not new to Nigeria alone. Elon Musk, Bezos, Bill Gates, Mark and the likes get it.

If you do same, the government will support you.
NNPC also got cheap forex over the years running into tens of billions of dollars for the repairs of the refineries.

How far

Are refineries functioning upon the cheap forex they got

If you know how many individuals wants to build a refinery even more efficient than that of Dangote you will be amazed.

But DPR and ministry of petroleum resources has blatantly refused them license even after putting them through the first two stages. Nigeria is far too corrupt to exist as a nation. Nupeng are just the agberos, they just want to eat but you see what Dangote is doing, it's dangerous. Remember when cement was N700-N1500? It was this veil practice of Dangote that took it to 5k, now it's almost 11k.

Pray for your country!
30 individuals currently have valid licenses for the construction of refineries

How can pipelines work for distributions of products. It's not possible to network pipelines to all gas stations, home deliveries, companies etc. That's why we have that area in thr down steam section called haulage distribution.

Man Raises Alarm After Spotting Hundreds of Dangote Tankers, Sparks Monopoly Fears

A Nigerian man has raised concerns after recording hundreds of Dangote fuel tankers lined up on a highway. He claimed that the billionaire businessman, Aliko Dangote, might be planning to dominate Nigeria’s petroleum industry.

According to reports, the new fleet of trucks owned by the Dangote Group runs on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Each truck is designed to transport refined fuel products such as petrol and diesel directly from the Dangote Refinery to filling stations across the country.

The company reportedly plans to deploy about 4,000 CNG-powered tankers in total. These trucks are not only fuel-efficient but also help reduce logistics costs when compared to diesel-powered vehicles.

This move, however, has stirred controversy among independent fuel marketers. Many believe it gives Dangote an unfair advantage that could lead to a monopoly in the petroleum distribution sector. Despite the criticism, Dangote Group insists that the decision is purely strategic and aimed at improving efficiency and cutting costs.

By handling its own logistics, Dangote is seeking to distribute fuel products directly — bypassing independent marketers who traditionally dominate the supply chain. This new system, which is expected to fully take off by August 2025, represents a major shift in Nigeria’s fuel distribution model.

With a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, the Dangote Refinery is the largest in Africa and one of the biggest single-train refineries in the world. Its massive production scale has raised fears that it could control a significant share of the local market and influence fuel prices nationwide.

Industry groups such as the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) have warned that the move might cripple smaller marketers and cause job losses. The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has also clashed with the company over labor-related issues.

In response, Aliko Dangote has dismissed claims of monopoly, urging other investors to build their own refineries instead of “using the cry of monopoly to stall growth.”

The company also explained that its decision to invest in CNG-powered trucks and manage its own fuel distribution is a response to market challenges, including boycotts and what it described as “unfair competition” from fuel importation cartels.

Dangote further noted that over 30 refinery licenses have been issued to private companies in Nigeria — including BUA, Aradel, and Waltersmith — showing that the market remains open for competition.

He emphasized that the Dangote Refinery has transformed Nigeria into a net exporter of refined products, improving energy security and reducing dependence on imported fuels.

To promote transparency and broader ownership, Dangote also announced plans to list the refinery on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), allowing ordinary Nigerians to invest and own shares in the company.

Is the same monopoly Lagos is using, all the companies in Nigeria remit their profit proceeds in Lagos?? Is that not injustice?? Lagos is Capital of this and that, while in actual fact they are reaping other states benefits

To be honest, I detect a bit of admiration of what Dangote is doing business wise in this video. He also points out the huge work opportunity present for trained drivers at Dangote, which I both agree with. And if cost that NNPC would collect woto woto. I think Dangote is doing great and should continue to help force society to progress!

However, that doesn't mean practical issues like freely occupying federal and state highways should be applauded and not stridently condemned, for herein lies the elephant hiding in plain sight: the free and uncompensated utilization of public infrastructure to the detriment of other citizens by his trucks, such as down in this video.

This free accommodation that isn't granted to every business and citizen, is worth billions to the Dangote group as free, politically protected income.
You would have won my respect if you did not pretend you are offering a genuine criticism.
