Growing up when our Igbo neighbour died in an accident with his wife and son, my dad was involved in ensuring the daughter inherited his houses in Lagos & PH, but his Big Mansion in the village reverted to his kindred as the property was built on an inherited land. I am not unaware that even this tend to happen where the girl child has strong men fighting her corner as gluttonous relative most likely would try to overstep.

The female child has a right to inherit property from her family so does the male. Since both of them will marry and start their respective families, it is discriminatory depriving the female of her inheritance because of marriage while the male child is allowed to enjoy his own inheritance.

When your kids grow, you will realize that the daughters even when married care for their parents more than the boys. I have a friend with twins in their 20s, the boy every school break will follow his friends all over or go stay with one GF, na the daughter dey come home to check on the parents, Some times he will say the boy has not called him for weeks. Females generally have a softer heart towards parents than boys

Imagine the by wey no really send you when he is grown will now come and claim say he be boy to claim all the properties

When I took result of the GCE I wrote in SS2 to school,.while my friends were checking it, a teacher saw it and asked them to show her what amusing them.

She took it from them and asked who owns the result. They were asked to call me and I went to the staff room to meet.

This woman literally subjected me to bullying in front of colleagues by claiming boldly I must have written the exam in a miracle center for it to be that good. Maybe because she knows herself and her colleagues were terrible teachers ni ó, I don't know. But she was certain I couldn't have read and passed all 8 papers with dinstiction and credit. (What she didn't know was I attended a tutorial where young brilliant minds taught us well and made us understand concept of most subjects).

That my teacher is like this lecturer. It's an indictment on him to be thinking the student's work is too good to be true.
