See him hallucinating like he matters to the US. The bigoted cornfield professor must have thought that the US is a lawless country like the one he has helped to enthroned back here.
Either IPOD or AIPAC, you must be one. Same mentality.

He also stood by the Niger Deltans when the yorubas wanted a reprisal after the freedom fighters blew up atlas cove that resulted in a single death..he and the late Faseun stood up and told the oodua people that the Niger delta strikers only came for the govt and not the oodua people. We respect and reverence Soyinka but these agbado people want everyone to believe he is hated by the better southerners which is false.

The truth is,the gang leader tinubu actually deceived them into that protest against GEJ,they hardly knew it was all for the failure buhari like that...but it was a great unfortunate mistake...
Soyinka knows the truth about what's actually happening in Nigeria and he remains a great man.
Well said 💯🙏

I key into your thoughts.

You are Very right 💯

Consoling yourself ok
Soyinka is overrated and inconsequential. US is not Nigeria.
For the record, Peter Obi was never jail. He travels any time he wants to any country like he's traveling from Onitsha to Awka. You'll see him now, the next minute he's in the UK or any other country.

Trump thank you

Wole Soyinka is a very youthful 90 year-old who still walks miles as a bush-fowl shotgunner on a regular basis. Without question, Wole Soyinka will outlive millions of fellow Nigerians who sport wobbly beer guts, and walk with a limp at 40. It would therefore be presumptuous to declare that the Trump tyranny will outlive Wole Soyinka, all things considered.
Lakuka..

He can live a million years if he wants. But America will outlive him. His Dems are not coming back anytime soon. He has a lifetime to wait.

Wole Soyinka followed his conscience, and he knew all along that his political stances could be controversial.

I also supported him but regretted afterwards. No one knew his govt would end up like that.
And STOP painting GEJ as a saint or a better leader. if he had done well, no one will campaign or even vote Buhari.
Buhari's incompetence only became glaring after assumption of office.
Also, it is myopic and baseless blaming someone that campaigned for Buhari for misleading you?
Did Soyinka provide you with any fact that wasn't in the public domain about Bihari that made you vote for him?
If Soyinka asks you to not marry, will you do same?
C'on Bro!
Even simple and ordinary people were saying it before elections. My elder brother wrote on Facebook how Buhari hasn't been active with anything for decades and how that could mean he isn't a progressive person. Shortly before the election we all could see he wasn't a smart man from the way he talks off point and struggles to remember simple details.- it was glaring he won't make a good leader even before the election.

Yes people are that inflencial, hope you know Catholic priest don't marry not because God said so but because their leaders want it so. Haven't you heart of people setting themselves ablaze because they were influence to do so?. As a kid I so much loved Tuface, Imagine an 18 years old me not voting who Tuface is campaigning for

Later that we could all see Buhari wasn't competent, did he retract his steps? Did he criticize his government? I'm not sure he did.

All I can do is pity this man in his old age. Here's a classic case of use and dump!

In the 60's to 80's, the US embassy would have brought the visa to his house, in fact, they won't even dare what they've done because he was in his prime, being used by them to promote the concept universalism as opposed to blackism (called Negritude then). He, Achebe, Okigbo, Mphalele were used by them to declare war against the use of African languages in literature.

In his next life, he will want everything to be BLACK or nothing.

If he is a private citizen then why is he being given so much attention in our public space?

His support for Tinubu and APC is subject to public scrutiny. If he doesn’t like it, he should crawl into a hole.

What is being silly about scrutinising every little detail of those who occupy our public space huh
What is silly is not subjecting the man or any man or woman to scrutiny whether publicly or privately.

What is downright silly is subjecting such a reputable individual to needless insults and abuses simply because of his personal Political stance or leanings.

Is this clear enough, sir?!!

If Americans fail to scrutinise their celebrities’ political stance and leanings, as part of working to build a better society for everyone, why would Soyinka be making a big deal of being denied their visa huh

TheBedWench:
The one-drop rule is a social and legal principle of racial classification that was historically prominent in the United States in the 20th century. It asserted that any person with even one ancestor of black ancestry ("one drop" of black blood)[1][2] is considered black (Negro or colored in historical terms).

This concept became codified into the law of some states in the early 20th century. It was associated with the principle of "invisible blackness" that developed after the long history of racial interaction in the South, which had included the hardening of slavery as a racial caste and later segregation. It is an example of hypodescent, the automatic assignment of children of a mixed union between different socioeconomic or ethnic groups to the group with the lower status, regardless of proportion of ancestry in different groups.[3]

The one-drop rule is defunct in law in the United States and was never codified into federal law.

Soyinka can’t criticise Tinubu’s government in Abuja, just as he has never criticised him for his a-looter Lagos master plan of increasing taxes without commensurate improvement in government services and public utilities.

He is a gentleman who knows how not to speak when he is chopping. Was his son not a commissioner of APC Ogun State government huh

But the man(Nobel laureate professor) you called bigoted was once upon a time in Nigeria sentenced to 12months imprisonment because of the issue(Biafra) that did not concern him.
He was one of the few voiced in support of Biafra....you can ask your father or your grandpa if you even have one, because no true son of a true man will abuse an elderly person all because of politics.

Ba5tard boy.

Lol. Look at this unexposed individual. What is special about the US in today's world for folks who are exposed and successful enough to be citizens of the world like Wole Soyinka?

There are literally scores of nation any individual can visit or relocate to permanently today that are far, far, far better than the USA .

Only unexposed, vindictive and bigoted folks like you think it is some kind of punishment Soyinka cannot visit the USA.
My overexposed oga, well done ooo. Yes your troll that you are defending doesn’t even need to travel out to other countries of the world. Our wonderful president and your fellow sad wasteners has made the country so great.
