My Huawei phone is suffering the same disease right now. All the numbers I have used for whatsapp on the phone have been banned. I'm whatsappless right now and have lost my whatsapp account.

Has anyone been able to resolve a phone that has this issue?

You need to flash the phone with global rom. The phone is using a Chinese rom. I will advice that you stop using your WhatsApp on the phone so you don't get ban permanently.

Is there a way you can help to resolve this?

Some of these used Chinese phones have trogans installed in them..which makes WhatsApp to blacklist the ip

Good day good people of nairaland, I recently bought a fairly used oppo phone. And less than a week of my using the phone my WhatsApp account was banned with no remedy of restoring it. I tried opening the business WhatsApp it still refuses to work on the phone.
I later introduced my second sim card to the phone and Whatsapp business was successfully installed and started working. but less than a week the account was disabled or banned.
Right now I can't use WhatsApp or Whatsapp business on the phone and the message I got is that I can't use WhatsApp on the device.

Please what could be the issue

The IP is compromised, another person is accessing your WhatsApp.
Resell the phone and get a new one

The ban isn't because the phone was stolen or IMEI blacklisted. The reason you are having the ban issue is because of the phone's firmware!!! Whatsapp's systems have flagged the OS as not secure hence the ban. Most likely, the previous user installed a custom firmware. Solution? Get the OEM firmware for that device. Flash it, and you should be available to run whatsapp.

I also experienced same issue with my Honor 8c device...the reason why your What'sapp is been banned is because your IP has been blacklisted. Probably the first user of the phone used it for fraudulent purpose

THE BEST BET IS TO FACTORY RESET THAT PHONE OR RESET THE PHONE I.P, WHICH IS VERY TECHNICAL WITH LATEST ANDROIDS. bACK IN THE DAYS, WE WILL JUST EDIT THE IMEI WITH MTK ENGINEERING TOL, BUT NOW IMPOSSIBLE WITH LATEST ANDROID.

Buy yourself a fairly used Tecno or infinix. I have experienced same before with Oppo, most of them are fake. I had to sell my Oppo to buy Techno Camon 18 to start enjoying Whatsapp again

That's why it's a fairly used phone and I am sure you bought the device at a rate massively lower than the market rate. The issue you are experiencing now was one of the issues the previous owner had and decided to sell the phone. Don't waste your time, re-sell or accept it as your loss. You have been scammed.

I had similar issues with my redmi note 13, what I did was download the zircon global os and installed it on the phone and the problem was solved. I can't remember the steps I took because I asked chat gpt on how to do it and it gave me steps to take, anytime I ran into an error, i just copy and pasted the error on gpt and it solved it. You will require a lot of data to complete this task, like 11gb and of course a laptop.

The phone is a modified Oppo phone from way back that put in the body of a more recent model,the android system is still like 5, 6 or 7 which is not compatible with WhatsApp,the Chinese are crazy people,but na our Igbo brothers dey import those nonsense clone devices because they are dirt cheap come Nigeria

The panel is an outdated one running Android 5 or 6,the device is cloned by the way ,not a genuine phone

Mine was redmi 7. It's not stolen but the bootloader is unlocked so Google flagged it as not certified. Chatgp app also refused to work on the phone.
I tried to relock the bootloader and got it hardbricked up till today. I had to go and get another phone and the WhatsApp started working on the new phone.
I even took the bricked redmi 7 to their service center but they said they didn't have the software!

Don't worry, what remains is for police ior dss to knock on your door, keep buying fairly used phones that you do not know the baggage it carries.
Few days ago ake stormed on of our facilities, grabbed a security man, took him to their office, then asked who has a certain number, he checked his phone and saw it was his fellow security man in another facility, they went to arrest that one. Grabbing him they identified the iPhone they were looking for with him. They asked him how he got the phone, he said he bought it from the laundry man also in our facility. Omo na so them gone arrest our laundry man too. In short 3 if our staff were now under arrest! They asked laundry mam how he got the phone, he said one drug law officer sold it to him, police then got the number of the drug law guy and called him that they were calling in respect of a phone and needed his presence, the man said he was out of town on assignment but will soon me available, that that they should hold on to the complainant (owner of the phone) that he wants to see him, Omo na so complainant talk say him no get interest again, make them give am him phone as they had located it. Apparently the boy is a yahoo boy that was raided by drag law, they officer then seized the boys phone and sold it, infact they said the drug man deals in phones or has a phone shop as his private business all from grabbing phones! Na so yahoo boy collect him phone walka abandon case. Na our our 3 staff as at yesterday morning de find money to bail themselves, all ontop buying used naija iPhone. No be juju be dat?

Can you imagine! Law enforcement agent grab phone from yahoo boy and sold it out!
