You typed like an agent and it is fine. So those of us with blinking PON light found the router on the road and we deserve to be in the situation that we are. Thank you for pointing that out. It is ridiculously funny to me anyway.
I'm no agent. I was only trying to share my experience. When my device was installed the POS blinked which meant that it wasn't configured yet.
They said it would take 24-48 hours to be activated. It was after the call from mtn that PON light stopped blinking. I was even advised by the agent that the process is easier going through them. You wouldn't have to wait too long for installation, configuration, and activation. I also received a follow up message from the agent asking if my Internet was active else he would escalate.

Agents are hustling for their own pockets, don't follow their words, they will dump you. I have had a second hand experience with one of them. When it happens, they won't pick your calls again. The installer that came for mine stopped picking his calls immediately after installation. You won't understand till you have an issue with the service

I'm not sure I agree. If you read my initial post, you'll see I had issues with installation too. I called my agent and he put me on a call with their engineering team, who in turn came the very next morning. By evening I was activated.

Call your agent, and call customer care on 217.

Everyone knows they are hustling but from my experience with such agents they’ve always made the process faster and easier for me. I don’t know why you have a problem with them. Everyone here have testified and spoken about their importance and you still won’t agree. Just like myself and others have said, discuss with an agent or call 217, they would resolve whatever issue you have ASAP. This is my last response to you regarding this matter. All the best.

That's terrible and not at all my experience with them fortunately. If I ever had to go through that, I'd dump the service immediately.

Service finally returned yesterday 😪

Took them all of six days to sort the issue 😒

I have called them and told them I will not renew .. and they must refund those days that they have taken from me.

I will be using another device for now

I'm so glad that its been restored. However, You've been enjoying the fibrex service for over 2 months without disruption and six days of downtime isnt enough to switch. What's the guarantee that the next device would be better?. Its all good though.

He has every right to punish them by leaving. If we all do this when their service is bad, they will understand that they will have to be on top of their game at all times and in the end, it will be to the benefit of customers. We Nigerians simply take too much nonsense from these companies and they take us a fool for it. PS. I am using the same service and it has been very good on my end, but it could be me tomorrow.

I live in Bodija area of Ibadan and MTN Fiber just started working in my area early this month. I paid for mine on Monday evening and they installed it yesterday Wednesday and promised it would start working today (24 hours after installation) So I'm patiently waiting. Will give an update after using for some days.

Absolutely true. That's the only way they will improve things...once they start losing enough customers due to their incompetence. That will force them to rethink their strategy and take their subscribers seriously. Remember, without the subscribers they do NOT exist.

When I walk into a bank in Naija and those folks working there act nonchalantly, I let them have it. I tell them that we, the customers, are the ones paying their salaries. That without the customers the bank does NOT exist. So they need to buckle up.

They can't try that nonsense here in the US. Naija will get there one day...

I'm not saying what he intends to do is bad but you and I know that's there's no reliable telecoms company in Nigeria. All of them go through downtime occasionally. Its a matter of picking the one that gives the best service regardless of the challenges. For me, I'd rather be patient with mtn than any other network. Their Internet speed and stability is mad. Its worth the wait but they can still improve. Cheers

You guys still don't understand how fibre works, maybe that's the problem. No matter how proactive a service provider is, when it comes to fibre, the challenges are enormous in Nigeria. This is why I stay away from fibre, even though it's the best internet connectivity, yet the most unreliable in Nigeria.

First of all, there are no effecient laws protecting service providers infrastructure. Anybody can damage their infrastructure without consequence, as long as it's not outright theft. Service providers are helpless because the government can not do its work. You guys think it's easy to keep deploying workers to multiple locations to fix damaged infrastructure. Sometimes, property owners make it very difficult for the service providers to even access their own infrastructure.

Chief, this is mere excuse. If their wireless networks is any better, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

This is my router,I believe it's the Huawei Optixstar hg8145x6-10. How do I know/tell that service has been activated on it,is there suppose to be a particular light that would come on? Are they supposed to send me a message informing me that service has been activated on it or what?

Yes, they will call you when it's time to activate it. The PON light will become stable while the WLAN light will continue blinking when it's activated.

Six days is too much... means anytime there is downtime i will probably go through the same six days of hell, or maybe even more sef.

I have been enjoying it and it is blazing well when there is no issue, but leaving an entire area that is using their service in the dark for 6 days is unacceptable tho.

I have resubscribed sha, simply because don't have the time to go to airtel office to get their router, I don't know why one can't pay online and get it delivered like MTN 🤦🏽‍♂️

But if I don't receive any compensation for the six days of blackout I will definitely invest in Airtel next month.

Anybody wey dey activated, una notice any issues signing in to PSN or playing games online with MTN FibreX?

Since yesterday, when I got mine activated, I've been able to update firmware, update games, but for some reason, I cannot play games online.
Every time I "Test Connection", I get a NAT Type Failed error, and it never connects. Funny thing is, I can see friend updates on the home screen as if I was connected to PSN, i can even enter PS Store, but I just cannot play with the NAT type error.

I don check online for possible solutions like enabling UPnP in the router admin, changing to Google DNS in the WiFi setup on my PS4, and other things, but it just won't connect.

Anybody get solution?
Because I wan try game and stream this weekend.

NAT test fails on both of my consoles but doesn't affect anything else for me. I'm on REDSEC rn no issues.

The airtel you intend to run to have a fair usage policy. A lot of people have complained bitterly about their unlimited service. It's like moving from frying pan to fire. You are already complaining about the process of obtaining their router.

I understand your pain of having to wait for 6days but it's worth the wait. MTN would improve on their fibre service as time goes on and downtime maynot take this long to troubleshoot. I'm glad you did the right thing in the end. New services comes with greater challenges

First month of use was as good as it gets.

I experienced some downtime on about four different days, but each of those didn't last more than ten minutes at most. Most people wouldn't even notice, and regular mobile data gets more downtime than that.

Renewed my subscription at 25k for 50mbps. If September and October go well, I will likely switch to the 6 months plan for 120k and save some money.
They've cancelled the six months subscription package, they said that NCC told them to do so

Don't know why it's taking them so long to connect me, they installed & tested the router 3 days ago and they've still not connected it. I hope it's not going to take them forever

Good news. bad news...
Bad news, you might not be able to stream this weekend.
Good news, I encountered the same PSN connectivity issues on console with MTN fibreX.
Also did some research on the UPnP, turns out this setting is disconnected/unavailable on the ZTE router version.
Some suggested it was even better to have this settings disabled. I just gave some time & it started connecting.
Till date, the NAT type error still dey dere while I'm ballin COD...so just give it a while.
