They want Nigeria to be like America but they don't want to pay taxes. They all rush to Canada where everything is taxed but they don't want tax in Nigeria. How will local refineries like Dangote break even if cheaper fuel is imported from other countries? If you can't afford imported fuel that carries 15% tax, then buy locally refined fuel. Shikena!
May God bless your generation for this.

This is just the simple truth Nigerians fail to understand.

This is the only country we complain of everything but praise developed countries that pay tax on anything dey do.

Nigerians want electricity, food, fuel, education, toll gate etc to be totally free 😁

But going to overseas they pay for all 🤔

Now we want to follow their footsteps yet they are complaining again 🤔

So you don't think the tariff on Petrol importation is going to benefit DANGOTE REFINERY or it will affect the refinery too. Negativity don blind una eyes to reality.

Happy sla.ve come here and be commenting nonsense in defence of their sla.ve master.
Tell me in Canada are parents paying school fee for their children?
Are they paying hospital bills?
Are they paying security levy to secure themselves?
Are buying fuels to power they generators?
Are they leaders looting national tresury the way Nigeria leaders are looting our national treasury?
Please if you want to remain sla.ve don't drag others along

They refuse to work with Dangote who has capacity and the advice is to continue to plunder resources like a mad man doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome.

Enemies of Nigeria.

We don enter one chance for this government. E never start yet. Everything is failing, from banks to all. The only thing they see is tax, tax. Tax. They don't care about the citizens and that's a big shame. Now the whole governors/national Assembly are shouting on your mandate we stand as if they cannot work without being APC. Nonsense

Citizens shouldn’t have to choose between war and good governance. A responsible leader should create conditions where people can thrive, not just survive. Saying “at least he’s not Putin” lowers the standard of what we expect from leadership.

Tax makes every nation great
Why has it failed to make Lagos State great in 26 years of increasing tax burden on the people? Increased tax burden for IGR and budget growth to N3.4 trillion from N42 billion.

Meanwhile, the master planner failed to employ well paid workers to make education free for all children and water available for all residents.

Ratio of public to private schools in Lagos State is one to 22 ― Commissioner
September 4, 2022

The Lagos State government has said the ratio of public to private schools at both primary and secondary school levels in the state is one to 22.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, gave the revelation in her remark at the 2022 edition of the Total School Support Seminar Exhibition (TOSSE) held at Oregun in Ikeja between Thursday and Friday.

The eyesore on Bourdillon Road
2nd January 2025

Beyond his neighbours, there is something about the sight of people hanging around a president’s residence that does not speak well of his leadership capabilities. Maybe no one has nudged him to see it, but the impression that spectacle on Bourdillon Road generates is that Tinubu enjoys the sight of suffering humans and thrives in—and through— their poverty.

If all these years, impoverished people hang around you and you remain comfortable enough to keep them just so they can be handed tokens of your large heart, then it means you have a pro-poverty mindset. Such a frame of mind is oriented toward cultivating poverty rather than stimulating abundance.

That is why he could unproblematically relate the story of his “friend” who went from using five Rolls Royce to a far-less valued car and not consider the import of the nonsense he was saying. That spurious account was an indication that this is a man for whom poverty—of others, not himself—is an ideal.

When a government forgets that its duty is to serve the people, not tax them endlessly, it becomes necessary for citizens to consider a change through the ballot.

Are they paying tax in those countries that we are praying and fasting for their japa visas, just for their leaders looters to have more luxury and steal to buy votes huh

chisomkachy:
Nigerian President Bola Tinubu’s first supplementary budget includes a fleet of SUVs for himself and his wife, a presidential yacht and the renovation of his villa amid a cost-of-living crisis for some of the poorest people in the world.

The proposal — which seeks additional funding beyond the annual budget approved by Tinubu’s predecessor — comes as the government asks Nigerians to persevere through pain caused in part by a raft of economic reforms ushered in by the new president. Africa’s most populous country faces rampant unemployment, soaring food prices and a plummeting currency.

Federal lawmakers approved the president’s request for extra spending on Thursday, but eliminated the provision of 5 billion naira ($6.01 million) to buy a presidential yacht. Instead, they doubled the allocation to a student loan fund to 10 billion naira, according Abubakar Bichi, chairman of an appropriations committee in the House of Representatives.

The lawmakers approved 1.5 billion-naira proposed to purchase SUVs for the office of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu — an amount larger than that allocated to many individual federal colleges. The supplementary budget also proposes almost 6 billion naira to purchase SUVs for the presidency — more than the amount initially allocated to fund a student loan program for poor families.

…Says Buhari doesn’t have my kind of money

However, Buhari doesn’t have the kind of money I can steal neither does he have the money I can collect. He doesn’t even have the money for Lagos votes. So, whatever I promise, it’s for real and is coming from my pocket. It’s not until I go to Alausa before I get money to give you.”

Addressing APC supporters on the need to deliver votes, Tinubu said handsome cash rewards await those who can deliver votes for the party.

He said he would not make mistakes of the past where people would collect money in advance and not deliver on election day.

Tinubu added, “Those of you that say you come to Bourdillon for mobilisation, it is mobilisation that we are doing here or don’t you understand? Definitely, if you know people in your neighbourhood, our members, how we used to do.

We’re not against tax; we’re against suffering. In other countries, tax builds the nation — here, it only builds politicians or you are part of them?

Nigerians want good roads and schools, but they don't want to pay for them. The oil boom is long gone. The reason why Lagos is functioning is that the state collects taxes and invests in infrastructure, such as rail, roads, and security.

Nigeria will instead pay a bribe or ransom to bandits than pay taxes.

You guys are still too blind to see the handwriting on the wall. Nobody is against tax . We are against mass extortion in the name of tax. Your government that couldn't generate revenue from trillions borrowed from IMF, couldn't account for forex and fuel subsidy funds, hasn't brought down inflation, haven't accounted for our refineries, haven't accounted for our heavily padded yearly budget and mismanagement in all sectors of the economy. This is the government you want to entrust your hard earned money to as tax expecting magic. We will pay taxes for 100 years and nothing will change. Dubai wasn't built on taxes but on strategic thinkers who harnessed their various revenue streams to the optimum. Be there forming responsible citizens while they rob you dry and put your generations in debt .

That's what happens when you hand over the Federal Government to an executhief MC Oluomo. These people are already used to extortion even at state level. You don't make the mistake of making mobsters and drug dealers president of a country.

Some of us saw this coming and we 'wailed' from the rooftop that Nigerians MUST avoid this criminal at all cost, but no. People could not see beyond their nose and they laggardly snoozed while this monster sneaked into power.
