Baba Soyinka is the giving the orange man white face Idi Amin in white house sleepless night ..
An inconsequential man from the world capital of extreme poverty and out of school children can’t give sleepless nights to anyone but his fellow inconsequential Nigerians.

Neo-black Problem: Must Blacks Be Ruled by Whites in Order to Prosper?

In short, the neo-black dilemma may be framed as follows: is it better to live under white rule without political dignity but with basic life-sustaining standards for many;

or to live under black rule with illusory political dignity and without basic life- sustaining standards for the majority?

The path forward for Africa lies in cultivating higher and adequate levels of personal and communal agential integrity as well as full personal responsibility and productivity. Not to mention creativity (including epistemic creativity), productive justice (such as merit and freedom), harmony and reconciliation at local and international levels, and a proper domestication of capitalism and other related values and institutions.

Africa must stop wasting her time on dreams of socialism because it is a system of wealth distribution primarily. Whereas, capitalism is a system of wealth creation primarily, and wealth has to be produced before it can be distributed.

they are right, you cant dictate as a visitor.

african nations need to do more in area of HDI, innovation is key the leaders need to think outside the box
The leaders looters we allow to emerge from among us are too busy stealing money from us to bother with employing well paid civil servants to make basic services and utilities available for everyone.

Basic things like free education for all children, free healthcare for all residents, water and electricity supply etc.

The Permanent Secretary, Office of Drainage Services and Water Resources in Lagos State, Mahmood Adegbite, has said that people drilling borehole in the Lekki axis of the state is probably drinking ‘’shit water.”

While speaking at a stakeholders meeting in the state recently, Adegbite noted that contaminated boreholes in Lekki pose health risk and added that treatment of waste water would eradicate any form of disease that may arise from it.

He said, “On waste water treatment, I will say that everyone digging borehole within the Lekki axis is probably drinking what I will call ‘shit water.’

feel free to celebrate all you want while ignoring the bigger picture - this administration can and will void visas of any nigerian without any reason.

soon we will see some of those celebrating this complaining when they who actually need a visa get the same or worse treatment

in the end it is inconsequential to soyinka. he has lived a full life, and unlike some other writers he has chosen to live in nigeria

the us is just one western nation in the world - one which a lot of tourists are currently giving a wide berth

Was Soyinka not the one who publicly tore his US Green card, why then does he still expect them to grant him a visa? undecided

I'm sure the visa and green card will be restored later.

May God grant Professor Wole Soyinka and President Donald Trump more long life.
Restored later what?

You must really think that United States is like Yoruba land where inconsequential people behave anyhow .

Wole soyinka will never see United States again after publicly tearing his green card because of hate for the president of the country ..

I'm happy I lived long enough to see this man unravel.

Our childhood was replete with tales of the faux greatness of this bigot, according him legendary status in the process. Thank god for Tinubu's emergence in 2023, which exposed the charlatan for the hollow saboteur that he actually is.

No one cares for his lamentations. He should sit in Nigeria and enjoy the agbadeux government he wickedly helped to enthrone huh.

Its becoming clearer by the day that Wole Soyinka didn’t deserve that Nobel Prize. We can all see that from his character. He only got the award because other African authors at that time shunned the prize in protest but Wole, being the cunning man he is sneaked behind and collected it.

Idi Amin in white face. Common Baba, in as much as I'm a great fan of yours, you need to tone down your satirical rhetoric a bit.
But then I can't blame you, you're the great playwright so it's second nature to you.

More than 300 South Koreans who were detained in a massive immigration raid at a Hyundai plant in the US state of Georgia have arrived back home.

Their return comes as the country's president and Hyundai's chief executive have warned about the impact of the raid.

A chartered Korean Air jet carrying the workers and 14 non-Koreans who were also detained in the raid took off from Atlanta at midday local time on Thursday (17:00 BST). One South Korean national has reportedly chosen to stay in the US to seek permanent residency.

The incident has shaken ties between the US and South Korea, whose companies are investing billions in the States – investment President Donald Trump has pushed to secure.

Lessons from the Prof. Wole Soyinka Visa Revocation Saga

No matter how highly placed you are, never treat people disrespectfully, be demeaning in your remarks, or insult others. Instead, treat everyone with grace and respect as fellow human beings.

Prof. Wole Soyinka has often been known for making insulting and demeaning comments toward others, including the president and first lady of his country, and he has often gotten away with it. However, when he extended the same attitude toward Donald Trump, it appears he is now paying a heavy price for it.

Treating people with respect, even when you disagree with them, will always yield positive results.
