So I i have this mature turkey I have suffered to train from day old to maturity. Initially they were 3 in number that I raised, have disposed 2, remaining one which happened to be t largest of them all.

So recently, sis put to bed and mum had to leave for her omugwo, so since then I have been the only one staying in our compound.

So as I left for work yesterday, a thief took advantage of our absence, climbed through the fence, and made away with my matured male turkey valued @ 80k.
The their knew the compound very well..watched you nurtured the bird and struck when the opportunity came

So painful, bro!

Thieves always wish to reap where they didn't sow.

Raising a turkey of that size and having it stolen in the twinkle of an eye, can be very devastating.

It's like you just laboured in vain.

They (thieves) forget the saying, "many days for the thief, one day is for the owner".

This is why jungle justice is often meted out on them when caught.

Life can be very painful!

Take heart!

Some people don't have conscience at all, I wonder the satisfaction they derive from eating someone's sweat.

One thing I believe is that whatever evil you do has a repercussion, it might not happen immediately but you'll definitely pay for it tomorrow.
Re: I Lost My Matured Male Turkey To Thieves Today. by Outthemudbyvoke: 9:54am On Oct 31, 2025
The thief would not risk looking for buyer. It's a neighbor I am very sure of that. He would kill and eat it. I once had such experience. Though my compound wasn't fenced, my chickens would take strolls around the vicinity and never make it back home. Until one day I decided to pay my immediate neighbor a visit, I bought some booze and smoke I know he couldn't resist. I insisted we stay at his backyard to avoid passersby seeing us boozing and smoking. Lo and behold, I saw feathers of chicken exactly the color of my latest chicken that went missing. I didn't say a word, we drank and smoked after which I called the police on him.

I highly recommend that you acquire a trained attack baboon to guard your house and back yard. Even before the thief can complete the mission of climbing over the wall, that baboon will start to administer jungle justice in a vigorous and wanton manner.

By the time the dust clears from the life-and-death skirmish, the only items left of the thief will be his shoes and his torn shirt.
Hian, you have started again ooooooooo with your savage response ooooooooo mucheche Hahaha 😂

Hmmmm. This makes sense.

And how much will the trained attack baboon cost?

Just asking for a friend.

I'm still wondering why this is on the front page of a third worlds country's most popular website.
Finally, someone that has not lost his sanity.

I sometimes wonder about the posts on this platform. You have a mix of international, national and state affairs.

And an unhealthy mix of the very absurd personal issues part sounding like, "I lose my turkey", "My dog get headache", "My leg dey scratch me", "Thieves stole my worn out Okada", "My street babe rang me in the middle of the night" and the now infamous, "We kill one snake for farm".

It's painful as this dilutes the seriousness of the site and limits its impact potential.

Not to talk of limiting its own earning power as all marketing professionals know, "A product that has no clear target market will be priced at half its true worth".

Yes, find your way to a babaláwo house and invoke the full wrath of any available deity on such mischievous person. If your thief is fished out, such mischievous people won't try such again in your environment.

80k is quite a sum honestly. Plus the time and labour you've put in. Stealing in every form is bad. As a poultry farmer, I always advise people never to stay away from their farms for extended periods especially during these Ember months. Livestock business is serious business and must be done with all sense of commitment, including security of living, breathing assets.

I remember a documentary I watched sometimes ago on Apes. Baboons can be very aggressive and they have strong muscles. Their bites can be deadly.

I support you on this. This serves as alternative to guard dogs.

So painful to lose a big imported turkey that worth 80k or more. The thief is probably one of your close friends or neighbours who has seen it or know about turkey and where to sell it.

Try to visit where they sell poultry birds in your area and check if you can see it. Also try to stylislishly interrogate some children around you (only say you are looking for a big white turkey), you make take one or two things from their statements. And don't ask them in the present of their parents or adults.
Thieves often underestimate children. They feel their attention span is short and don't remember things and thus perpetuate crime in their presence with little afterthought.
Ask the kids..they'll tell you a good yarn.
However be careful and only talk to kids you know o else it might be mistaken for something else these days

Ask many people around your neighbourhood if they saw anybody with Turkey 🦃. Ask home owners, shops and random people, even okada riders if they saw anybody with a Turkey 🦃.. I'm sure at least one person will give you answers.

Oh no, that’s really painful..After all the effort, care, and time you put into raising it from day one it’s truly heartbreaking to lose it like that. People can be so heartless. I’m really sorry about your loss. Hopefully, the thief gets caught or faces karma soon. Don’t lose hope better things will come your way.
