oga - stop rigmarolling - why has your big russian bear not been able to overuun a country run by a clown comedian ?
This is a war of attrition. Since 2022 Kiev has received more than 300 billion dollars in military aid. This is a proxy war between NATO 🆚 RUSSIA where Ukrainians are willing cannon fodder, expendables.

Meanwhile, please what happened to Ukrainian invasion of Kursk region in Russia??

Where is my padi Oasisx ?

I hear say PBAT don approve the streamlining of earned allowances into our monthly salaries, the payment of our 3 months outstanding wage award and our withheld salaries from 2022. Uplifting news but fingers crossed until I receive alert in my phone.

Meanwhile, help us remind your boss that today is 31st of the month, and staff of Federal Tertiary Educational Institutions never see salary alert.

T for thanks.

Hmmm?

But you were justifying the reckless parsons. Maryam Sanda for example was given 12 years instead of freedom. Those Tinubu's ex colleagues were no longer pardoned

Yes. Untreated H pylori infection can lead to chronic gastritis. Chronic gastritis can lead to metaplasia whereby the body replaces the damaged cells lining the stomach with cells from the intestine.

Unfortunately, the cells from the intestine then become cancer cells.

Essentially it is an adaptive response by the body to protect the stomach which goes wrong.

The key is to treat the H pylori infection and eradicate it if it causes symptoms, rather than taking antacid all the time which will not halt the inflammatory process.

Even without the mentor sef, if you start early you'll grow early. Remember that very tall boy that Buhari commissioned that year, the tallest cadet, he's a captain now and na 1993 dem born am, he's just a step away from Major

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by semid4lyfe(m): 7:19pm On Oct 31, 2025
I'm wondering though.

With the military culture of premature retirement of senior officers when their juniors are picked as service chiefs, is it still worth it to build a career in the military?

I mean, you go enter NDA early, attend courses and trainings, dey build your career jejely, meritoriously get promoted to Lieutenant General with 10 more years to go before retirement, then a new president is elected, and he picks your junior a Brigadier General, as Chief of Army Staff so you have to be compulsorily retired.

Doesn't that de-incentivize joining the military?

That's why most of the senior officers made GOC's, Director of military finance, commander in charge of army property, Theatre commanders, etc always end up being corrupt.

They divert as much funds as they can stash away for their possible early retirement. Remember one time a particular senior officer diverted huge sums of money only for the orderlies working for him to steal same money from him. I think he was court martialled eventually.

The military is the only organization where such happens.

In the university system, the requirement to aspire to be VC is to have been a professor for at least 10 years.

This is not always strictly followed because there have been cases of some politically connected professors who do not meet that requirement and were appointed over other senior professors, but at least the senior profs are not retired prematurely and get to stay on till they clock the retirement age. They can even vie to be VC later on..........like our current VC who became VC at his second attempt.

I know the Military operates an order-based system, and it'd be difficult for a senior officer to take orders from a junior but the practice still dey one kind.

I wonder if this Nigerian military practice of premature retirement obtains in advanced climes.

When we all don move on. And the key actors are still on it offline. The best case is for Chioma to seek an out of court settlement if it involves taking all her elders and villagers to beg for days

For several months now, we have all moved on, While Chioma is still tied down. She cant travel, she cant move on with life she is spending money(wey she no get) on court cases

The tactics of frustration in litigations plenty especially when fighting a bigger person or lawfirm. The bigger lawfirm will first send you a 1000 page discovery where they will assign 2 associates to, will your small size law firm have the resources to dedicate 2 associates to be charging time to go over 1000 pages?

Lt. Gen with 10 years to retirement? Lt. Gen is the pinnacle of an officers military career the rank of 3 star General by the time you attain it you'll be in your 50s with 5 or 6 years max to retirement and usually that rank is held by the COAS, a position one can get relieved from after 2 years. You're right about it being unfair anyway but it's fairer in this civilian admin than it was in the Military regimes, Asides Abacha who ascended to the top like the crafty devil Olatunbosun grin the rest were hurriedly promoted like Gowon and especially Yaradua that one pain many senior men for Army

I think long years of military rule may have influenced this tradition in the Nigerian military.

Also the fact the level of distrust at the topmost level of power in this country is high. I think that influenced the tradition of presidents/commander-on-chief sacking service chiefs they meet in office only to appoint theirs (Irrespective of whether the outgoing military service chiefs still have 10 years to retirement). They believe whomever they appoint themselves will be 100% loyal to them and will quash any overly ambitious officer that may want to cut short the service chief's deserved elevation.

For example we saw Buhari extending the tenure of Buratai beyond his retirement age for reasons best known to him. This past week we saw Tinubu sacking the CDS that is just 2 years old in office and still have years to retirement.I know they both gave varying reasons for their actions (which we may agree with or disagree with), but I'm just pointing out inconsistencies in the whole appointment and retirement of service chiefs.

In all, it is unfair on senior officers who are forced into early retirement because a president decides to elevate their juniors ; but If you ask me I would say they know what they signed up for. Even in the military they don't play by the general rules of fairness and justice which we civilians are expected to live by.

Well, I don't know much about her case Sha. I just felt the need to point out she's not paying for legal fees like most people would assume. I saw Inibehe mentioned it earlier this week, that was how I even know the case is still on.

I just cited Lieutenant General as an example but my point is really about seniority and having adequate years to go before retirement but being prematurely axed because a junior was appointed as a service chief and the unfairness of it. Shey you get?

In the university system, people dey hit professorship at 40 years, though rare. But professors at 45+ years dey quite common. Promotion is every three years subject to meeting the promotion criteria.

How many ranks dey army for a commissioned officer? And whats the promotion requirement and interval that one cannot reach Lieutenant General with 10 years to spare before retirement.

I ask for educational purposes.

You didn't consider the fact that the US sees it more of a Muslim thing, than a bandit thing

Until Trump starts to share travel bans to Nigerian Muslims, then you'll understand that the support doesn't just stop with weapons
