This week, the United States designated Nigeria a Country of Particular Concern for severe violations of religious freedom. As President Donald J.
Trump said to President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria when they met in 2018, the United States is deeply concerned by religion-based violence in Nigeria, particularly the killing and persecution of Christians. Tragically, since that meeting, millions of Nigerians have continued to live in fear for their lives, and several thousand have been brutally murdered because of their faith. Since taking office, President Trump has made it clear that his Administration will fight to defend and to advance the inalienable right to worship freely and to live in accordance with one's faith, whether here in the United States or beyond America's borders. Governments whose leaders have allowed perpetrators of vicious religious persecution to act with impunity pose a national security threat to the United States and the world. This week's designation rightfully calls out the Nigerian government's inexcusable lack of action to end faith-based violence.

We all know bandits don’t look at whether a person is Muslim or Christian before mudding people but I kinda like the viability this is gaining.

Trump should put body and send some support for Nigeria government to curb the herdsmen menace once and for all if he truly cares about Nigeria Christian. They should supply Nigeria fully the necessary military tech and intelligence needed to hasten the end to this menace.

Anything contrary to the above, he is just showing fake love to Nigeria Christian.

We welcome Trump pronouncement but he should do more than chochocho. Make em support Nigeria with tech and funding just as he dey do for Israel if he truly love Nigeria christians.

Nigeria is not the only country in their “country of particular concern”, other countries are there too.

Obidient are just willing tools just as they have in other countries that will retweet and like. That’s what opposition does.

BS, this has the handwriting of the Ibos all over it. It’s their political playbook since time immemorial. If they can’t get what they want they burn the whole house down.

Go to Twitter, the only people celebrating this are Ibos. As usual they do t see beyond their noses and feel the US will mysteriously catapult them to the presidency in 2027 or give them Biafra.

One thing I do know an Ibo will never rule this country and if this leads to a breakup of the country, everybody will go back to his fathers village.

Trump shouldn't trust Nigerian government either. I might not like Trump but if he genuinely wants to help in curbing terrorism out of Nigeria then we all will support him because the level of insecurity in Nigeria is worrisome.
