The public filing sounds benign. It describes the contract as “advocacy on human rights and political recognition matters in Nigeria.” But the language conceals the truth. Behind the careful wording lies a movement responsible for attacks on civilians, police and clergy across Nigeria’s southeast. This is not diplomacy. It is deceit performed in a three-piece suit. The stage is Washington, the audience is global, and the script is written in the ink of self-interest.
In October 2025, Authority Newspaper in Abuja reported that Simon Nkere, the self-styled prime minister of this phantom government, met Senator Ted Cruz and other lawmakers to promote the claim of a “Christian genocide” in Nigeria. Neither Nkere nor Cruz has denied the account. A parallel investigation by Paris-based Africa Intelligence confirmed that Moran’s firm had been hired to drive the same message through Washington.
What began as lobbying now looks like laundering. Moran Global Strategies, which has represented defence contractors such as GE Aerospace, General Dynamics, and Robinson Helicopter, also lists clients that include the Eritrean Blue Revolution Front and South Sudan’s National Salvation Group, both accused of violent insurgency. A firm trusted with national security contracts now carries the brief of proscribed and armed groups. The moral contradiction could not be starker. It seems morality in Washington now bends like a weather vane – whichever way the wind of profit blows, principle politely steps aside.

The filings, the court judgments and the public admissions remain unchallenged.
A pattern has emerged. Insurgents and governments, rebels and corporations, all rent the same credibility under one roof. We are told that the world runs on rules. But these rules change depending on who breaks them and where the victims live.

You will always have corruption and the military is not left out. Some of our soldiers are selling intel to terrorists and some of the generals are siphoning money meant to use to probe the ongoing crusade against bandits/terrorists. To solve this menace, Nigeria needs to invest massively in security and manpower. Currently we don’t have that capability and finance for this. Even if we go the local policing route, you still need funding to stand a capable police force considering our size and forest area.

If a bandit strike in a remote village, it will take some coupe of hours for military to deploy there, if your supply chain and response is this limited, it’s going to be heard to curb the guerrilla attacks. We can only protect the main cities easily but remote villages and forgotten places remain largely ungoverned in the real sense.

I remember back then when I was still in the north and in a vigil in the middle of the night, we started hearing sounds of stones on the zinc roof of the church.

Our pastor paused, and whole congregation went silent as the rain of stones continues to increasingly hit the churchs roof and at the same time hearing chants of "Allahu Akbar" outside the church. All of us were shivering, especially children.

God so good, my father and some other elders in the church who could fluently speak hausa language boldly stepped outside to engage them. I was too little and did not fully know how they were calmed down. But we couldn't continue with the service that night.

Other churches in the town were not lucky as we were. They got injured.

This happened around early 2000s and it is not even as worse as it is today but the experience is life threatening.

For those forming woke or deliberately spinning the narrative to cover atrocities committed in the name of religion in Nigeria, I have a question for you.
