The airtel you intend to run to have a fair usage policy. A lot of people have complained bitterly about their unlimited service. It's like moving from frying pan to fire. You are already complaining about the process of obtaining their router.

I understand your pain of having to wait for 6days but it's worth the wait. MTN would improve on their fibre service as time goes on and downtime maynot take this long to troubleshoot. I'm glad you did the right thing in the end. New services comes with greater challenges

It was NOT worth the wait... if you are okay with six days downtime I am not... even one day downtime is unacceptable.

If there is an issue with their infrastructure they should be able to sort it out in a few hours, and if it is going to take long it shouldn't be more than 24 hours max. Six days of downtime is unacceptable. I am a simple man, I pay for a service, I expect to get what I paid for.

They need to be aware that if they misbehave man's won't hesitate to port. Yes Airtel may have Fair Usage Policy, from what I hear it is capped around 1TB, I doubt I will be using upto that, so that one is not an issue.

I am still waiting sha, if I don't receive my compensation I will definitely invest the 25K in the Airtel ODU next month. Airtel network is decent in my area, so I am sure it will be a decent experience 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

Agents are hustling for their own pockets, don't follow their words, they will dump you. I have had a second hand experience with one of them. When it happens, they won't pick your calls again. The installer that came for mine stopped picking his calls immediately after installation. You won't understand till you have an issue with the service

@oloet how far,has your router been activated,mine has still not been activated o, after 4 days of installing the router. Pon and Wlan lights are on. Wlan light blinks now and then,but it's just on most of the time and doesn't blink.

I've tried calling 217 I got a voice prompt that said I should enter the first six numbers of my snid, which I did and it said it was an invalid number. Is the Fnid number not the SN number behind the router?
I think my router is not yet activated so it might not be registered in their system .
As per the agent,I've called him severally,same response which is 'I will escalate the issue'
I sincerely believe that they are not telling me the truth, something is not clear

Input your MTN phone number and take the option to speak to an agent. You'll probably not have to wait more than a minute or two.

Thanks for your directive which I followed,I eventually spoke with a lady who generated an FN number for me cause I was not originally emailed any. She now said she would forward my details to the department concerned for them to activate the router. Meanwhile the stupid agent I paid money to didn't even do anything since on Wednesday that we've been on this mater.

Great, now that you have your FN ID the matter should be resolved swiftly...

If the agent did his job properly, the FN ID is something that should have been sent to you right after the installation.

My thoughts exactly,I new the agent had f---ed up from the way he was monkeying around,he was so clueless about what to do. I just knew something wasn't adding up.

Sorry for the late reply, yes it is working right now... You need to pressure them with calls

I woke up this morning to meet that my Mtn Fiber X is now working,it must have been activated during the night. I must say that I'm not impressed at all with their services at all. I had to chase them around yesterday for a whole 5 days I must have called and charted with about 7 different people yesterday all in an attempt to get it working, something that I should just pay and relax and you tell me when to switch on. No customer relations, most of them don't even have an idea of what the problem was

2.4GHz and 5GHz should give the same speeds tho... I get the same 50Mbps download and 25Mbps upload on both bands

I think they're still optimizing their Fibre service cus the speed is yet to be stable as it should with time everything will be normal i guess same Up and Down speed

My friend whom dey installed our routers at the same time 8 days ago is still having issues with his own activation.we've called 217 for activation and still nothing yet.I'm suspecting that the problem he has is because he only has light in the night when he comes back from work and put on his Generator. So maybe activation is been attempted during the day when there's no light to power the router. Is this a possible scenario?

Surely this is something he should've asked customer care.

I think so. They asked if ours was on when they called for activation.

I don't live in Lagos either. Just called CC and they say it's a general issue due to system maintenance. No timeline on when it'll be back online.
