Dey play. The one farmer who successfully overpowered and neutralized a murderous herder in self defense was jailed by the government. It also happened in 1906.

Where is your common sense?

Everyday Nigerians showing a propensity to be gullible when it comes to International Affairs will never cease to be funny to me.
So, person for this day and age believe say Trump go come guns-a-blazing to Nigeria to stop the injustice meted out to Christians. grin grin

This is merely chest-beating. Not that Trump/America is incapable of such but of what significant interests or benefits does such endeavour help the US? They don't give two shïts about Nigeria. We aren't that important and he emphasised how "disgraced" a country we are.

This is just another PR stunt from the Orange Man to steer prying eyes and critics from his failings with the Ukraine vs Russia situation, China vs US failings, and now his latest mixed results with India.

Dude is merely choosing a battle he knows he can easily win and spin for his PR. Dude needs a win after so much Ls he's received in the International Community recently. And what perfect candidate would it be than for a "sh!t-h0le country" that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things and who would go down very much easily without a fight.
Even the Iranians are a worthy adversary compared to this disgrace. So easy PR win. Enough to keep M.A.G.A motivated and fighting for upcoming battles. grin grin

People for here go think say he truly sympathise with the victims of this incompetent govt.
Make I dey observe.

I’m also afraid that any U.S. military intervention in northern Nigeria would only worsen the security situation and create even more socio-economic upheaval as we all saw in Libya, Iraq, Syria etc
There would be no intervention TBH, this is just Trump playing to the gallery. If Yankee want to protect Christians, they should start with Sudan where they have a visible enemy and not a guerilla adversary they can't see in Nigeria. Both France and Russia have not been able to help Burkina Faso/ Mali overcome their jihadists for over a decade so make we comot mind for silver bullet to the issue.

Nigeria simply needs to invest in serious drone technology and an army of drone operators in the tens of thousands that will remotely kill these terrorists, GSM mapping to spot unusual gathering of GSMs in remote areas, and an educational campaign encouraging the public to report sightings of armed men to a hotline using What3Words etc so drones can be sent after them. I'm even surprised the terrorists are beating Nigeria to the punch on use of drone technology

It is not wrong at all for him to be worried about the killings of Christians in the North.
My response is largely focused on the Nigerians who seem to be very ecstatic thinking Trump is actually going to send boots to Nigeria if things don't go his way on this matter.

This is the same thinking I see with peeps whom at any political unrest in Nigeria always cry and shout intervention from the United Nations and are quite ignorant on how International Politics works.
So it is funny to me especially when the same peeps hold these views all these years despite the West evidently showing they have little interests in our local politics. Not enough to directly intervene in such matters. Cos we're not really their cup of tea.

Anyways, anyhow you want to see the matter. No problem. I wouldn't expect anything differently knowing how Nigerians see all things from ethno-religious lens.
Just as I suspect seeing my moniker makes you assume I'm Muslim and anti-christian.

It may interest you to know my Mom is a staunch Christian. Heck, half my siblings are Christians; so thinking I'm happy seeing Christians killed is a misjudgement.

Thinking I'm in support of one useless government cos of my religious leanings is merely just myopic.

I wouldn't have said a thing if not for the need of addressing this Nigerian funny attitude of asking for foreign interventions.
Anyways.... More power to Una.

Pressure tiwa 😁
Thats to show you that they have what it takes to wipe out terrorists. They have the intelligence. There was even a time the sponsors list were handed to FG. Nothing was ever done.

They are playing with the lives of innocent citizens while their own familly are in the comfort of a well governed Western country...or moving with heavily armed security details here.

Same way they dont want things to get better for our lives, its alsoe why they dont want insecurity to stop. Nigerian becoming half as good as the west means our politicians wont be looting much again.

They do not want this....hence, insecurity will prevail.

Imagine that man that eas exposed for smuggling arms into the country, yet our govt looked the other way.

They need US threat to sit up...cos it will definitely have a negative effect on their pockets

They're in a league of their own. grin grin

They don't seem to understand how such interventions in Nigeria would destabilise the entire West and Central African region. That's if it's not a huge problem for the whole continent if Nigeria is made to be another Burkina Faso or Sudan.

Nigeria is expected to be a buffer and the local strong man to rein in these bad elements when push comes to shove. Which other country in the region can fight a war, influence regional blocs, has the military manpower, experience and the economics to actually fund and prosecute a large scale multilayered jihadist war? No one. Except Nigeria.

That's why no reasonable sitting POTUS even one as Cr@zy as Trump would be willing to take such measure.

You think after the war and destabilisation, fellow neighbouring countries will be able to absorb the resulting immigration from displaced persons?

You think they (America) want more of you in their country as immigrants? Why is Europe shouting and resisting more immigrants from their dilly dally in Syria, Afghanistan and the likes.... Pushing the responsibility of housing displaced persons to Turkey.

Nobody give fkc what you think...

We all know Trump isnt sending the army. It was a threat to wake the criminals you people support with your lives...who have NEVER done anything good to improve the state of the country, nor protect the lives of helpless poor citizens.

But if the killings continues and the criminals at the helm relaxes as they have always done, you might get a surprise.

I really would like them to stop all the AIDS. It amounts to nothing, order than been looted.

Our resources nko? What have the common man ever benefitted? But people like una no go ever complain.

Lovers of Nigerian indeed

Yep, Trump isn't gonna immediately send army. The whole idea(the tweets, TRUTH, etc) is to make sure the killing is reduced or totally eradicated. If the killing doesn't stop and knowing that Islamist terrorist simply don't engage their brain, I think a surprise may actually happen.

This APC spokesman NL branch captured it better below. I don't care about your religion or that of your household. If Trump can exert pressure on Nigeria government , help eradicate islamic terrorism, that's good news for Muslims and Christians too.

LegendHero:
No political class issue but Fulani herdmen that continue to wreak havoc for years. We graduated from Boko Haram to Fulani herdmen to Lakurawa all product of the North.

Northern leaders fail Nigeria and we’ve expended trillions on these terrorists who continue to spring up.

If Trump has good intention, I welcome them coming to help get these terrorists off Nigeria and that alone will solve 50% of our problem provided they do it in collaboration with Nigeria military. Coz if not handled well, the aftermath will be worse than what we currently in.

Adamu Garba should have been speaking up against Fulani herdsmen, bandits and their crazy keelings of Nigerians across creed whether Muslim or Christians alike.

Trump might be a Klawnnn saying it’s only Christian’s, but solving the problem will solve it for all Nigerians so why would anybody not agree?

President Tinubu should communicate with USA, no need trying to waste time.

spambot ate my post

nigerias problems are more than this

there is an alm jiri to jihadist / bandit pipeline. literally a pool of recruits
the northern leadership are chasing federal character - amnesty for militants - therefore amnesty for bandits - complete with some BS rehabilitation

jihadists and your average northerner have the same ultimate goal - Islamic domination in the region
then finally throw in corruption where this is a gravy train for different people who therefore do not want it to end

I'm not against their intervention, I welcome it, but I know they don't have the political will or human capacity to fight another set of Jihadists with boots on ground. Jihadists are not someone you bomb from air with B2 bombers. Americans are not ready to send their children to die in another Jihadist intervention

What Nigeria should do is welcome their technical expertise with drones and intelligence etc, even invite them to put boots on ground, and they will use their own hand to scale it back to just intelligence provision and drone operations cos they don't have stomach for boots on ground
