The thing is that in the case of genocide the intent is clear; To eliminate the targeted group itself, killing them, preventing births, or destroying their culture (and mind you, this is why I refuse to accept that the Gaza case is one as their birth rates never drops). I think a good example of this is the Holocaust, where Nazis aimed to exterminate Jews and other groups.
But ethnic "cleansing" is to make a territory “pure” by driving the unwanted group out. This might not necessarily be to kill them all.

The key to the question is this those Muslims who were killed weren't necessarily killed because of their faith. But we have seen systematic and deliberate killings of Christians in the north and the Middle belt

Christian communities have been sacked by terrorist groups simply becuse of religious affiliation. We have seen terrorist groups discriminate when picking their targets

There's a level of genocide against Christians in the middle belt and in the north.. but not at a scale that warrants the intervention of a foreign power.

It would of course amount to ethnic cleansing, except perhaps you didn't read what you're quoting cause if you did you would have known that there has been no such attempt. You have consistently echoed how tiny the Gaza strip is, so if at all anyone had wanted to displace all Gazans it would have been a super swift process. I am wondering why ethnic cleansing does not legally fulfil the definition of genocide. Honestly to me, it looks like a lacunae.

Genocide is defined to be the systemic and deliberate killing of a particular group with a view to eliminating them........ this definition stricto sensu doesn't say the group has to be a religious group.
