Have you ever stepped on a deadly snake? I did today—and I’m still shaking!

Today, I went to my papa’s farm to harvest some plantains. As I reached for one, something under my feet started moving violently, like the ground was alive.

I looked down… and OMO 😳—I was standing on a massive Gabon viper… with BOTH feet!

I screamed and ran, but fear made me trip, fall, get up, and almost fell again. My heart almost jumped out of my chest!

Somehow, I grabbed a stick and was able to kill it.

Never in my life have I felt fear like that. One moment, I was calm… the next, I was literally running for my life!

Anyway if you around Ondo Town, you may holla me for a tasty snake pepper soup.

Very deadly snake,count yourself lucky that weren’t bitten,it would have been another story.

OP, yesterday i saw one on my way to work.

As i was walking, something suddenly start making way under my gaze. When i viewed down, i saw a very tiny snake but very long, i panicked with fear!

The funniest thing about this is that, the snake was also trying to run too away from me when we sighted eachother. But thank God i didn't step on it.

It eventually ran and hid under a gutter. And that is a place i usually walk past at dark hours(early in the mornings) without a torch.

Now i see the reason one elder always tell me to walk with torch in the dark, even if its a tared road!

While crossing a small bush path on my way from a poultry farm some years ago.


It was dark that day...left the farm late. No lights. I stepped on it and crossed it. I felt something soft and kinda fluffy under my feet. I felt something wasn't right. So I put on my phone touch light and went back to check what I stepped on after walking like 3steps. It was lying across on the path in a way that the head was on one side of the road and the tail on the other.

I didn't see clearly and thought it was a rope or some twig on the path initially.

So I shone my light on the bush and saw the tail of the snake. It didn't even move or shake. I did something silly and crossed to the other side and shone the light on the head. I don't know if it was curiosity or what made me I can't explain but it still didn't move.

I just turned around quietly again jumped over it and continued on my way.

I was just playing in my head as I walked down "the Lord has given you power to step on snakes and scorpions and nothing will harm you"

This is the second time I'm telling this story!

Go and do thanksgiving, you see that snake you killed is one of the most deadliest snakes in the world

Yes when I was a kid. The snake i stepped on was a rat snake. I was bitten but felt nothing.

Omo guy just go do Thanksgiving, this is a very deadly and poisonous snake, na God say your time to die never reach

A python that's not big enough to swallow you ain't dangerous to you Right? No venom at most you get a bite injury

I was about stepping on one today although very thin and long. I was somehow scared, I tried killing it but was unable.

@OP: Just know that the snake was not hungry and angry, else it would have bitten you to stupor. You are lucky.

Stepping on snakes is interpreted by them as danger. The only protection for them this time is to use their venom against the invading enemy.

Which kind question be this one na ? Have you seen anybody whose been beaten by a deadly snake and leave to tell you how it looks or feels like ? You go don die before you realize that ur not alive

Your story is similar to mine, same snake (viper), also in the farm for inspection in the evening.
The only difference was I couldn't kill it before it escaped

My was snake rolled over one of my legs ,I was using the second leg to push out but it was insisting .
I didn't look at my legs until someone shouted see snake on your leg and ran away, I immediately flip my leg and the snake fell off people pursued and killed it.

Life is really deep
The thing is that this animal you killed , wont do the same to you you change shoes.

Snakes are not the enemy. Snake is not your enemy , they are creature of nature with emotions. People have recorded stepping over poisonous snakes several times, the truth is they only bite when they feel threaten or under compulsion to bite as a form of protection. Its emotion.

Python don't have any form of poison, and mostly it's not easy for not so large snake to swallow humans especially humans that are active, so the python is playing defense against you
