Troops neutralise 10 terrorists, recover weapons, equipment in Dikwa-Marte axis – Army Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised 10 ISWAP terrorists and recovered a cache of weapons and equipment in a successful night ambush along the Gamboru–Dikwa–Marte axis of Borno State. The operation, according to the military, followed the neutralisation of over 50 insurgents in a previous encounter around the Katarko axis. Lt.-Col. Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Maiduguri. Uba said the troops of Sector 1, under 24 Task Force Brigade, executed a well-coordinated ambush that foiled a terrorist infiltration attempt from the Flatari axis into Gamboru Ngala. He said after suffering heavy casualties, the insurgents diverted towards Dikwa but were intercepted again and neutralised in the Dikwa–Marte general area. Source; @zagazola

SOUTH AFRICAN AIR FORCE CHIEF VISITS NIGERIAN AIR FORCE HEADQUARTERS The Chief of the South African Air Force (SAAF), Lieutenant General Wiseman Simo Mbambo, on 27 October 2025, paid an official visit to Headquarters Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Abuja, in a move that underscores the growing commitment of both nations to strengthening defence cooperation and advancing regional security. The high-level engagement provided an opportunity for both air forces to deepen discussions on key areas of collaboration, including technological innovation, training, logistics, aircraft maintenance, counter-terrorism operations, and operational synergy. The visit reflects the mutual resolve of Nigeria and South Africa to harness their shared capabilities toward enhancing peace, stability, and security across the African continent. In his remarks, Lieutenant General Mbambo commended the NAF for its remarkable progress in modernising its fleet, improving aircraft serviceability, and advancing indigenous maintenance capacity. He reaffirmed the SAAF’s readiness to partner with the NAF in joint training, counter-terrorism initiatives, and technical exchange programmes. He further identified the critical area of driving indigenous technology development to address peculiar African challenges as key to achieving sustainable air power advancement on the continent. The SAAF Chief stressed that the increasing access of non-state actors to advanced military technology poses a common challenge to all nations, emphasising the importance of solidarity among African air forces in addressing these evolving security threats and safeguarding the continent’s collective defence interests. Representing the Chief of the Air Staff, the Chief of Policy and Plans, Air Vice Marshal IH Etukudo, described the visit as a significant step in strengthening intra-African air power cooperation. He reiterated the NAF’s unwavering commitment to building strategic partnerships with friendly air forces across the continent, prioritising operational effectiveness, innovation, and capacity development. The visit not only deepens bilateral ties between Nigeria and South Africa but also reinforces a shared vision of a safer, stronger, and more united Africa through air power diplomacy, counter-terrorism collaboration, and mutual defence cooperation. #NAF #SAAF #AirPowerPartnership #CounterTerrorism #SecureAfrica #StrongerTogether #AfricanAirForces #DefenceCooperation #RegionalSecurity #IndigenousTechnology

Floky215:Look at Sudan. The Sudanese Civil war occurred due to disputes between the Commander of Sudan Armed Forces and the Commander of the RSF of Sudan right after a coup was carried out and the President was ousted. What are they fighting about…?? Who will lead Sudan and how will Sudan be led. If Nigeria should experience a coup right now, it would be chaotic. It could be that after the coup, that is when IPOB secessionists would be emboldened to pursue secession. Probably because one of the coup plotters is of South East origin. A coup could also cause foreign interference and make foreign entities impose their policies on us (World Powers like US and China scramble for Africa). That is definitely not what we want. Not to mention that the military, already overstretched in conducting internal security operations, would also have to deal with governance. It will overwhelm them and may cause frustration which in turn will make them pour that frustration on civilians. Terrorists and Bandits would capitalize on the chaos resulting from the coup and attack and steal from vulnerable communities. Communities that don’t want to fall victim will be told to pay tax. The country would be in a big soup. Look at the AES states. Mali’s security is deteriorating instead of improving. Military platforms are either being stolen or destroyed. Burkina Faso has little to negligible improvements in security and almost every news of the country’s development feels like propaganda. No much evidence to back them up. And then there is Niger, infamous for blaming Nigeria for its misfortune and accusing Nigeria of working with France to destabilize Niger. Wasn’t it Niger that said it had a list of terrorist sponsors from Nigeria and it was going to release it to the public. Till date they haven’t released anything. |

Captain Ibrahim Bello (N/16266) Born on July 28, 1987, Captain Bello is a member of the Direct Short Service Commission Course 43. 13. Captain A.A. Yusuf (N/16724) Captain Yusuf is a Nigerian Army officer with limited public records available. 14. Lieutenant S.S. Felix (N/18105) Lt. Felix is among the junior officers in detention. Details about his role remain unclear. 15. Lieutenant Commander D.B. Abdullahi (NN/3289) Lt. Commander Abdullahi serves in the Nigerian Navy and is one of two non-Army officers detained in connection with the alleged coup plot. 16. Squadron Leader S.B. Adamu (NAF/3481) Squadron Leader Adamu serves in the Nigerian Air Force. His alleged involvement remains under investigation. Meanwhile, SaharaReporters had reported how military operatives raided the Abuja residence of former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, in connection with the alleged coup plot currently under investigation by the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA). Multiple security sources confirmed to SaharaReporters that the raid occurred at Sylva’s home in the Maitama area of Abuja. According to insiders, a “special military team” carried out the operation after intelligence linked a “former South-South governor” to secret meetings allegedly held with some of the detained military officers. Sylva in a release had confirmed the military raid on his Abuja residence, while distancing himself from the alleged coup. Source; @SaharaReporters |

JNIM claims first attack in Kwara, four months after announcing new brigade Al-Qaeda–linked militant group, Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM), has claimed responsibility for an attack in Kwara State, its first in Nigeria, four months after announcing the establishment of a new brigade in the country. According to intelligence sources, the attack reportedly occurred in the northern part of Kwara, along the border corridor linking Niger and Kogi States. JNIM, which operates mainly in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger, announced in June the creation of a new brigade for Nigeria, raising concerns about a possible southward expansion of jihadist influence. Zagazola said that the claim aligns with earlier intelligence warnings of cross-border infiltration through smuggling routes connecting Benin Republic and Niger. “JNIM’s latest statement describes the attack as the debut operation of its Nigerian brigade. If verified, this would indicate a dangerous evolution of the regional threat landscape,” the source said. Security operatives in Kwara, Niger, and Kogi States should intensify patrols and surveillance in response to the development, with reinforcements deployed to border communities. Military and intelligence agencies should work to identify possible linkages between JNIM operatives and local extremist networks. The incident comes amid heightened regional insecurity and the continued fragmentation of terror groups across the Sahel and Lake Chad Basin. Source: @zagazola
