One can make some really interesting deductions just from this Buhari's tweets alone.

1. Apparently there are Christians and Muslims in this Yelwa Gindi Akwati village. At least for the village to have an imam and a mosque, then it's apparent there is a considerable number of Muslims in the village.

2. The Fulani Jihadist went about killing Christians in the village in 2018 and that particular attack led to death of 80 Christians.

3. The Imam the reduced the number of christians that could have been killed in that attack by 262. He had to plead with the Jihadist to spare the 262 Christians he shielded by offering to exchange his own life for theirs.

4. For some reasons the assailants the retreated and the Imam was able to save 262 Christians that could've ended up like the other 80 that were slained in that June 2018 attacks.

5. The fact that the humanitarian efforts of the Imam drew both national and international recognition did in fact confirm the accusations of Christian genocide in Nigeria ( The northern part of the country precisely ). Or how would anyone describe a situation that had 80 Christians killed and 262 more saved by sheer bravery of an 83 year old Imam who was willing to lay down his life for them to live?

There are no contradictions here. There are Muslims in that same town and the Jihadists never went for their lives but rather the Christians whom they targeted for wiping out.

We may not support America's proposed military intervention, but don't let anybody gaslight you that there's no genocide in Nigeria. No one agrees with anybody 100%.
And I do not agree with his Israel First policies in Gaza.
But on balance, I have backed Trump because his pros are significant and his cons are not that different from any random POTUS.

In the Kurdish regions of Syria and Iraq, America maintain bases and outposts. A few thousand soldiers at most.
The Kurds form militias and are well armed and do the grunt work.
This arrangement has ended pogroms against the Kurds in their land for years.
The Kurds also manage the proceeds of all oil exports from their region and use part of it to maintain the American presence.
The Americans get presence in a strategic location, get underlings who do the grunt work, and the Kurds pay for most of it.
The Kurds are still Syrians and Iraqis. But the central governments in Damascus and Baghdad have little say in the day to day within their autonomous region.

If you give Northern Christians and many Muslim communities that same option, they will grab it with both hands.

Any Nigerian government can end the insecurity there within a month, but the problem is the northerners see the terrorists as their brothers because of religion. When government starts pounding the terrorists, the northerners will say you're attacking their brothers, that is why no Nigerian government wants to attend to the issue because they need votes from northerners after all.

As you can see, this issue can only be solved by dividing the country, so that they can deal with their brothers themselves.

There's nobody I can think of better than Osinbajo with the qualities I listed. None.
