⚡The Trump administration is preparing a new mission in Mexico to target drug cartels

According to NBC News, citing U.S. officials, the plan involves deploying American troops and intelligence officers to strike drug labs and cartel leaders inside Mexico.

Early-stage training for the potential mission has already begun, though deployment isn’t imminent and discussions about its scope are still underway.

The operation would involve elite forces from the Joint Special Operations Command operating under U.S. intelligence authority, known as Title 50 status, with participation from the CIA.

Some of you don't even understand how badly this country has crumbled. You sit in your small comfort zones and form opinions without the slightest idea that being a Nigerian alone makes you a prey to the rest of the world, today.

I was in the #Endsars crowd that attempted to flood the National Assembly in Abuja. We were brutalized like hardened criminals. It took almost three days for me to secure my release because I had people capable of making that happen. I left that cell with three other innocent protestant Nigerians and a lot more languished there even longer.

Something has to give in this country, and not a moment later. It is on that premise that I wholeheartedly agree with Lord Adams on this very issue.

Since the puppeteer has found an opportunity to upset the stage, there's nothing wrong if we use the moment to break from those strings as citizens, even if the cost is going to be heavy.
Nigeria is currently a failed state.

We must either seize this opportunity to marshal our resources to confront this menace ourselves or an intervention is necessary.
Inaction is not an option.

Because that is their plan.
They hope to hold a few meetings with the Americans. Offer them some lucrative oil/mining contracts and rights.
Then do nothing and wait for Trump's 3 years to be over.
While tens of thousands of Christians are killed annually for the foreseeable future.

Nigeria is not worth the annual sacrifice of 5,000+ Christians.
That is my line in the sand.

You want sovereignty to be able to sentence Christians to death for standing their ground while allowing herders to go scot free after butchering farmers. What useless sovereignty!
They are coming for our resources. Is it the same resources you are using to strike deals with bandits and train "repentant" terrorists that have murdered Christians? Where was it decreed that Nigerian resources can only be used to sustain a system where a Christian girl is burned alive in broad daylight and the killers recorded themselves on video holding the match and they are walking free today.

Anyone preaching unity should take several seats.
We've had unity for the past six decades and more Christians keep dying every year.
We've gone from occasional religious riots and ethnic clashes to near daily pogroms.
I don't want to hear any empty platitude anymore.
I want to see action. If we are one, prove it by ending the menace. No dey wyn me!

Dude nobody wants these terrorists to be alive but compromising Nigeria's sovereignty is not the solution. Knowing the pattern of US "saving" the oppressed citizens of certain countries and leaving them worse off, we ought to be skeptical. An ideal situation would have been a partnership of the US army with the Nigerian army while providing weapons and Intelligence.
Wait oh you mean no one ?...

A referendum would involve representatives in the house of assembly and a general vote and I do not think this has been done yet. For protests, yes, Endsars comes to mind even though it wasn't an explicit call for restructuring same as all the fuel hike protests held during Jonathan's regime.

Maybe that should be the conversation we should be having now. What do we really want and how do we go about it? A dissolution into separate tiny states? Or a united one but with lesser power in the center and more in states or regions?
Again, I posit that if we had a vibrant economy almost none of these would matter (tribe, religion) America is currently home to different nationalities and each with their religious beliefs, Christianity, Hindus, Muslims etc. Everyone is making their money and living in a decent home so no one really cares. These things only become apparent in a condition of lack
I love Nigeria, but support dissolution of this country

Wonderment.. The same party you called names...

According to you, in 2018, APC na terrorist party, party of Fuulannni herdsmen. What changed in 2025?
They still remain a party full of terrorists till today, and don’t think I will ever support the APC government. I hated them before, and I will continue to hate them. But seeing some of you openly canvassing for a U.S. invasion of Nigeria is something I will never support, because we all know what U.S. interventions usually lead to. Have you ever seen any U.S. intervention that brought lasting peace anywhere? They are welcome to cooperate with the Nigerian government to flush out terrorists, but not for Trump or anyone else to disrespect us by threatening invasion as if we are a vassal state to the U.S. Go to Twitter and Facebook you will see how some ignorant fools are calling for the invasion of their own country as if the U.S. were an angel. A U.S. invasion would only lead to disaster for the average Nigerian.

Everyone here is in agreement that the ideal solution to this problem is the Nigerian military smoking the savages.
We also all agree that solving this problem is within the capabilities of the Nigerian military.
We also all agree that the Nigerian government has shirked its responsibility in securing the lives of Nigerians--Christians and Muslims alike. And have even made some egregious and baffling errors that appear to be rewarding the cretins.

Where there is a divergence is what happens when the Nigerian government refuses to heed the warning of the Americans.

For one camp, and you are in this camp, nothing should be done if the Nigerian government fails to act.
We should all just continue to type condolences, complain, and count coffins.
Tell me if I'm wrong and how?

If the threat of military intervention does not get Tinubu and co to act, then what will?
And how long should we wait for that miracle to happen while thousands more die?
Answer!

Again, you are unwell if you think you can threaten religious war and death to those who demand action be taken because terrorists are about to be sent to their creator.
Don't worry, if the operation starts we will also tell you that the US is also killing Christians in Venezuela, so they are not targeting muslims.
Y'all think you are dealing with kids.

-Lord
It's foolish of you to designate me into a 'camp'. Even going as far as saying that I want nothing to be done if the Government does nothing

First of all, the North is my region and it's my people this affects. You'll never convince me or any reasonable person that you can have a more valid take than mine. You can also never want the situation resolved more than me, that is impossible, so no do pass yourself

America has a very bad track record when it comes to military occupation in Muslim majority areas, it's normal for there to be some level of apprehension

Once again for the umpteenth time, because it seems you're blind to it when I type this, if America comes in good faith and strictly goes after those responsible for the killings, then they're welcome, if not then the consequences will be catastrophic for the country

There's nowhere in my post I threatened religious war, all I did was give an assessment of what could be should things play out in the way I described. Already the threat of US invasion has a religious pretext of protecting Christians, it's a wonder how you don't see anything wrong with them completely negating the fact of Muslims being victims as well. Apparently, you don't see the sectarian religious undertone to the threats being made

You need to get out of your head and stop assuming things on my behalf, while coming up with confused takes in response to me

At the bolded, other party chieftain had confirmed that they brought in Fulani militias from other countries just to win election. So, the talk of America undermining our sovereignty doesn't fly because our leaders already sold our sovereignty all in a bid to win election. This same point have been corroborated by former Deputy Director, Defense Headquarters.

"The issue in the North is not the same with that of the Niger Delta. They said they should be forgiven and reintegrated. What are you forgiving them for? These are just criminals. You can’t even really call them non-state actors. These are just criminals brought in from other countries. They are not even Nigerians. So, why do you start putting them in the armed forces? What is going on? This country is going to explode maybe in the next 20 or 30 years because all the people you are reintegrating and putting into the military are going to become major generals soon. And they are going to command your army, then turn the country into an Islamic state. What they are doing is wrong, and should be stopped. They should meet this force with force because this is a terrorist action."..

Trump threat is to get the government working effectively immediately to secure the lives & properties of Nigerians. America won't invade Nigeria. Push come to shove they will unilaterally smoke out the islamic terrorist if the government refuse to act.

⚡The Trump administration is developing plans for a new mission that could send U.S. troops and intelligence officers into Mexico to strike drug cartels.

The operation, still in early planning and training stages, would involve U.S. Special Operations forces and CIA officers conducting drone strikes and ground operations.

This isn't about ignorance.
People have seen with their eyes. People don't want the same country with you radical muslim folks anymore. Enough is damn enough!!!! And the problem is particularly the Fulanis. We have people who have lived in the north for years and will tell you how friendly Hausa people are but Fulani is always negative news.

And we all know that the only reason why the north itself is not calling for a dissolution of the country is because of southern oil.
Buhari wasted billions of dollars looking for non existing oil in the north.

If the north finds oil today or something greater than oil that can power its unproductive, teeming and uncontrollable population for up to the next 100 years, I am more than convinced they will be the first to roll out the drums of dissolution.

⚡Trump:

“These are people not to be toyed with,” when asked who’s tougher to deal with, Putin or Xi.

“Both tough. Both smart. They're both very strong leaders. These are people not to be toyed with. These are people you have to take very serious. They're not walking in saying, "Oh, isn't it a beautiful day? Look how beautiful. The sun is shining, it's so nice." These are serious people. These are people that are tough, smart leaders,” Trump told CBS News.

He also commented on nuclear weapons, saying the U.S. would resume testing since other nations, including Russia, China, and North Korea, are already doing so.

“We have enough nuclear weapons to blow up the world 150 times,” Trump said. “We're the only country that doesn't test, and I don't wanna be the only country that doesn't test.”
