This whole thing started in 1999--October 1999 to be precise, This was when the presidency and the office of the Attorney General allowed the then Governor of Zamfara State to introduce Sharia Law into the country contrary to the provisions of section 10 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Former President Obasanjo, Attorney General Agabi and other stakeholders in the country aka lawmakers, governors and states' attorneys general sat on their hands rather than challenging both the federal government inaction, as well as the state of Zamfara for breach of the constitution. I hope this challenge to our sovereignty would be a wake up call to our elected officials.

Also, for all the politicians, most especially Northern politician, trying to stir up unrest going into election season, hoping for a repeat of 2015 at the ballot boxes, congratulations! You have successfully opened the Pandora's box of critical national dialogue and would soon know what true federalism is.
