I visited general Hospital Numan, in Adamawa state to conduct HIV AIDS test but they asked me to pay and even in Taraba State the same issue.

Please is this issue of payment to know one status is approved by government or just corruption?.

Because truth be told, if Trump ever decides to turn his back on Nigeria or the North, he doesn’t need to send soldiers — just a single policy decision could cripple health programs and cost thousands of lives. That’s the kind of quiet power the U.S. still holds over us.

yeah. People hv bn doing this greedy abi na criminal act even before Trump announced that USAID suspension because of its linkage with terrorism .But they later said they will still be sponsoring HIV and TB treatment. My guys in TB and HIV NGO still retained their job and pay.
Some of our people just like greediness.Imagine some of them are selling RUTF in the open market, something which is meant to feed malnourish children.

HIV test is still free in all General Hospitals but you'll pay if you don't know the protocol. First ask for H2H (heart to heart) unit within the general hospitals, HIV test is free only in that unit.
For Primary health centers (PHCs), HIV test is not free. You'll pay between 1500-2000 for the test.

It is our gross dependence on foreign and local aids. It has made us both physically and mentally lazy. I can't remember when last HIV test was free in my own center

I went to a government hospital in Osogbo and I was approached by a lady to take HIV test and the only thing I bought was gloves.

They might be taking advantage of them because the rate is rampant over there.

You should know that most Nigerians are not even ready to do the test in the first place. Now that they have to pay for it, many are going to totally lose interest. The only incentive that will work 💯 is to make it free, with cash rewards of stipends like N500 or 1k. If USAID can't fund it, don't we have government? Are they not the same people disturbing us everyday to go for test?

This is a country that the government and employees of government are corrupt and wicked.Even before removal of fuel subsidies,some states provided neighborhood health centres with as much as over a million naira directly for data alone.
It is sad to know that Nigeria is one big crime scene

I'm a company owner. I pay my annual dues regularly. Local government levies and state internal revenues too. Nature of my business won't even allow you to evade tax because we work directly with the government. That's it.

BTW, what has tax got to do with HIV test. I hope you are okay upstairs.

For a company owner, money to subsidize health costs( which is expensive globally) comes either from taxes, or out of your pocket.
