JAMB reiterated that the UTME is intended solely for candidates seeking fresh admission into tertiary institutions. The Board emphasized that students who are already enrolled in higher institutions are not permitted to participate in the examination unless they have fully disclosed their current admission status. The misconduct is called Double Matriculation by the time you're matriculated for your new program. On the surface level, it looks like it's not a big deal until you get caught and expelled from both schools! I think JAMB is introducing it now to tighten the evidence and basis to sanction the culprits severely like expulsion from both schools and suspension from taking JAMB for years 🤔 |

Rubbish Some people studying zoology, botany etc would want to rewrite jamb for better courses .Why are they even asking for admission status when they are the ones that issue admission letters in the first place and should have that in their database. You gave me admission this year and ask me to swear next year that you gave me admission Bunch of incompetent body |

It's a welcome development as long as they don't completely bar University students from resitting and seeking admission into a different program or school. I guess declaring current status will provide additional insight to admission committees when considering a student's application |

There will be discrimination, education does not have age limit, fresh what? Why can't someone study two courses simultaneously, it should be by merit, not keeping slot or trying to create space, if you are capable of running double programs I see no problem. Meaning jamb don't know who is currently admitted in Nigeria universities, I taught they have something called matriculation list, why can't the system automatically detect it, are they planning to increase the difficulty level for those already in the university? Or are they planning to put them in one center where military will be supervising them, although JAMB has successfully reduced malpractice to the extent I feel they are the only credible olevel Nigerian examination of which I propose there is no need for post utme, jamb should give admission direct with their students ranking, asking if some is an undergraduate or graduate might raise suspicion on its objectivity |

I hope we will get it right one day, but not yet! JAMB should take away the complete right to offer admissions from Institutions. Case study: My Nephew took JAMB this year, 2025. He scored 280, and still has over 3 A's out of the 5 subjects considered for Nursing. Last week, UNN released its admission list, and his name was not published. I was surprised, even after they said there was a massive failure this year in JAMB. Universities should always make this information available to the public domain for students to see, and not just release the names of students admitted. |

I think the window is just tightened against those doing malpractice if I don't like my course and I want to change , it's still possible I believe. |

Flangelo12:Why won't they like it, it is actually a good policy direction, those caught in Examinations misconduct, should be dealt with according to the laws of the land and if possible expell them from their current University and barred from participating in JAMB EXAMS for 7 year |

FreeStuffsNG:See how JAMB is creating problems for students 1. JAMB reiterated that the UTME is intended solely for candidates seeking fresh admission into tertiary institutions. 2. The Board emphasized that students who are already enrolled in higher institutions are not permitted to participate in the examination unless they have fully disclosed their current admission status. So, if you declare your admissions status as already in a tertiary institution, rule 1 will make you ineligible. The clause unless they have fully disclosed their current admission status thus have no weight! |

TenQ:You probably do not comprehend it. JAMB actually makes sense. Have you considered that if you declare, it may probably limit you only to forfeiture of the first admission or both admissions and no criminal prosecution for false declaration 🤔 If you have admission in NDA and don't want to continue in such a specialized institution, you can forfeit the NDA admission through JAMB and then have a clean slate for the fresh registration and future mobilization for NYSC. |

Nigeria cant keep record because of corruption. Record keeping leads to accountability and hence it affects the possibility of egunje |

| Re: JAMB Introduces Mandatory Admission Status Disclosure For 2026 UTME Applicants by TenQ: 3:29pm On Nov 04, 2025 |
FreeStuffsNG:You mean if I don't declare my admission status!? I advocate that a person who declared that he already has an admission in a tertiary institution should be allowed to seek a better course in another University BUT with the condition that a person CANNOT run two simultaneous admissions at the same time. What occurs in Universities in Nigeria is that you apply to read Medicine or Biochemistry but the University gives you Botany or Sport Education. A student is torn between accepting a "useless course" or "rewriting JAMB" or " staying at home for one year". What JAMB is saying is that you should choose between staying at home for one year or making a profession out of this "useless course"! |

Zionmdde:It doesn't make sense to me either but then that's the guidelines. Just indicate you are already a Student. I will assume that the Bio-Data submitted will still he the same otherwise there is a fraud in it. |

TenQ:No course is useless. What JAMB is saying is that you don't deny those who want that course you consider as useless ![]() If you don’t want to stay at home, quit social media and study very hard to secure a place on the merit list of your preferred course and institution or take the option of distance learning education if you fail. Top University Education is very competitive everywhere in the world. Now JAMB has leveled the children of the poor and children of the rich and powerful. Let's commmend JAMB and FG. |

gazilion:So they can use it legally. Why do you think USA ask you “Have you ever been a terrorist” when applying for visa? They know you will always say no, but it’s a legal question. So that in the future if they later find out it’s a lie, they already have your confession to use against you. JAMB mentioned clearly that if you already had admission, you must indicate. That won’t stop you for writing JAMB again but they just want to have your confession. The Board emphasized that students who are already enrolled in higher institutions are not permitted to participate in the examination unless they have fully disclosed their current admission status. |

Zionmdde:You were not forced to take the admission You should have rejected the admission given to you (that’s if you are not the one that chose that course), instead of accepting it and carrying under grad student, and wait for another year to rewrite your JAMB and try your luck again if you will be offered your desired course. |

FreeStuffsNG:Many courses are useless in Nigeria sir. A useless course is ANY course that is not in high demand by the society! A useless course is a course for which it's supposed expertise is not needed by the society. A useless course is a course that has low value in the society. The question you should ask is If ALL medical doctors should go on strike, would we miss them? If ALL linguists in Nigeria should go on strike, would we miss them? |
