Heartbroken footballers collapsed to the ground in tears as their manager tragically died mid-match.

Mladen Zizovic collapsed on the side of the pitch after suffering a heart attack 22 minutes into Radnicki 1923's match with Mladost on Sunday evening.

His players and coaching staff were informed later on that Zizovic, who had been taken to hospital after receiving medical treatment, had passed away - sparking scenes of devastation on the pitch.

Footage of the incident, which came 20 minutes after the match restarted, was shared to social media on Monday, with players breaking down in tears and comforting each other.

The game was initially suspended after Zizovic collapsed and was resumed by the referee once the Bosnian coach was transported to hospital.

After the players received the news, the referee abandoned the match.

Zizovic, who was taking charge of just his third game at Radnicki 1923 following his appointment on October 23, retired from his playing career in 2016.

Heart attacks, blood clots, pulmonary embolisms, etc do not care if you exercise all day seven days a week

Managers don't play inside the pitch but they stress more than the actual players. Maybe he died of heart problens due to constant rise and fall of his heart rate during the match. Rip to him.

His players on the pitch would be demotivated seriously before the final whistle.
I use to think that this kind of tragedy happen if a player misuse an opportunity to score by making a horrible miss one on one with the goal post or goal keeper

Keeping fit is not a waste of time, try to educate yourself on things you have doubt on before showing off your ignorance. Heart attack can be caused by many factors and keeping fit is not the ultimate remedy to it. Danish footballer Christian Eriksen suffered heart attack while in action.

Above 40, please use baby aspirin to thin your blood. Your blood vessels narrow with age and failure of blood to reach some parts of the heart can trigger heart attack followed by stroke...failure of blood to reach parts of the brain. Do not be deceived...you can look great and go to the gym and still die of cardiac arrest.
