Omo, anybody that wants to apply autumn 2026 shouldn't put there 100% mind in it because what I experienced this year from Swedish migration agency eeeh. I applied for residential permit on may 14th and I waited for 3 months and 2 weeks before I had to withdraw my application and it wasn't only me that didn't get a response from them we were much because I was in 2 different groups. So people even went for biometric and interview and didn't get any response. It was so frustrating and tiring Am trying to get a refund and am being informed that administrative fee will be deducted from every 7.5 credit course plus some other expenses after my calculations the total of 2m will be deducted from the school fees I paid. |

biggal:Yes , I still dey here. All the best. you have done what the average nigerian doesn't do, reading through and equipping yourself with the information you need. I am positive you will succeed given your strategy, but don't be too optimistic in terms of job, just prepare for anything and hope for the best. I'll suggest you start applying for jobs now, I mean now. Don't hesitate to reach out if you find yourself in any confusing spot, or need advice on certain peculiar issues. The law is a little dynamic and few things are changing, but not for you as a student. Also, prepare yourself for the cold, it's not like you think it, it is a little worse, unless you have been to a cold country before- even though here the south is the warmest while the North is coldest. But all the same, as a Nigerian, you have what it takes to succeed. |

Nigerian prospective students in Sweden should learn the following: -Sweden has taken a tougher stand on immigration now, especially for some countries. -People who have B.Eng, with 14 years banking experience, and still applied for MSc in Engineering in Sweden are not stupid, that is the way to go. the swedish educational system looks at your academic background to judge your future. In places like America, they consider your work experience, but Sweden looks at it like, "how can an arts student want to study masters in Engineering, even if you have worked for Engineers for 20 years? -The bureaucratic delays is part of the swedish system, if you are not patient, then learn it, if you don't want to, then don't think of Sweden. - Somehow Sweden tries to verify, as much as they can, your claims. Thus doing "wayo" you cannot defend may affect your future in Sweden. -If you start with a story, remember it and stick to it. If for any reason you want to change your story, back it up with concrete evidence. - the best way to deal with Sweden is to be informed, and go ahead of them and start strategizing, let them always meet you in front, if you let them meet you where you are, you will most likely be caught off-guard. - On the average, Swedish case officers follow the law to the letter, so, you have to know the law. if you are in doubt at any time, ask them. - They are constantly updating themselves of our updates. They know us to a large extent. - Don't put all your hope on them, they can fail you at any time and keep a straight face, or even smile at you. |

I wish to share my perspective, as someone who had successfully navigated admission processes and study permit in Sweden and other countries. 1. Sweden is a beautiful country country with high standards of living. It's is also a multicultural country. Alternative to Sweden is Finland. Almost similar cultures, but Finland is relatively more efficient. 2. Take time to go through all the information available at "Study in Sweden". 3. Your choice of program should demonstrate an academic progression, objectives, and future plan. You should be able to answer the question of "why". 4. Getting job in the first few months of arriving in Sweden may be challenging, and sometimes frustrating. It's important you plan that you may not get job during your first semester. 5. Start your admission application early and contact your universities for transcripts early. Additionally, contact people mentioned in your application for reference early. 6. If Sweden is your final destination, be prepared to adjust to constant changes in the immigration rules. Sweden is very strict about compliance. However, if Sweden is just a stepping stone, plan your exit early before the expiration of your visa. Always have options- plan A, B, D.....,and Z. 7. Finally, keep a diary of your plans, as your second mobile device. |

Please house! On the universityadmission.se, they said we shld send our official transcript and certificate directly from our institution. I have done the official transcript from my school. How do I send official certificate. Or does the transcript also covers for certificate Pls reply me bosses |
| Re: Swedish Admissions And Student Visa by kCatalyst: 1:21pm On Nov 05, 2025 |
deejay123:Pls check well.... I don't think certificate is part of documents to be sent from school To the best of my knowledge, Certificate is always one for every student. It will always be in it's original notarized form (signed and stamped) when issued by the school, and is always with a graduated student if collected. So I want to believe they know you will have your original certificate with you. You can upload it by yourself from your portal. ****** You've done this part below....info is for others in case... ....Except for transcript which contains your academics records and can either be in student copy or notarized form, and is subject to manipulation (I mean changing of scores) by student. Thus the reason they ask that transcript should be sent from an official authorized address from school. |

kCatalyst:Thank you for your response. I just want o know if those that have applied and gotten admission only submit their official transcript to fulfil the academic document requirements and nothing more. Maybe it will cover for the requested official certificate as well. |

| Re: Swedish Admissions And Student Visa by kCatalyst: 8:08am On Dec 09, 2025 |
Mannyq124:This is the only email for transcript to be sent to; verifications@uhr.se It is electronic. Not by courier delivery Receiving it depends on how fast your school is able to send it to them. So you should ensure that your school send it. Once you have confirmed that your school has sent to the email, it will be updated on your portal when they visit your application. But since there are a lot of applicants, it may take some time for your portal to be updated. Nonetheless be assured they will update it. I can only advise you follow your school up |
