Since Nigeria has resources that it can't use well EU will help you use it. Is America the reason why NIGERIA'S resources are USELESS to NIGERIANS?

America must defeat Islamic terrorists in Nigeria by fire by force whether terrorist sympathisers like it or not.

Islamic hypocrites!!!

But we Nigeria refused to refine our product
We are now.

The reason why we weren't before was because refined products have been under subsidy in nigeria...meaning that they were sold at a loss to help government reduce subsidy costs.

Hence the issues ...no profit, no working refineries

Why is the business so lopsided in favour of one party? It means the other party is very bad at negotiating favourable trade deals.
It also means one party is only interested in what they will share and squander on young girls and shady investment abroad....

And these Europeans know this.. so they help them get what they want 🤧

But these things are paid for.
You sell to them and they pay in forex.
Trade is mutually beneficial.
I don't understand what the lamentations are about.

That you cannot use your earnings to improve your lives is absolutely up to you.

Japan is the fourth largest economy in the world, was second for decades. This is an island nation a third the size of Nigeria by land mass and in which half that area is mountainous and unusable.

It has practically no raw materials but enough volcanic and seismic activity to sharpen the mentality of it's people to the fact that they are on their own and have to survive by how they think and what they are able todo with their hands.

In addition they have fought and lost a war, the only country so far in history to have been nuked, yet they have not sat back and lashed out against our nations in spite or retribution. Today they are the primary champions of peace round the world.

What exactly is Africa's problem and this endless victim mentality.

This is a mentality completely lost on

Ok. Oseni should bring money to buy my cocoa so I don’t see to EU again. And he should build more refineries in the country so he can buy all the Nigeria crudes, at least that way Shell and so on can be expel from the country.

nairalanda1:
A lot of people love to mock me when I point out how dependent on oil we are....and how bad it is for our economy.

Mr Oseni has demonstrated further how bad it is for our economy.

You know me, I have repeatedly said that all Nigerian leaders from past to present are bad leaders because they do not use our resources to make exportable manufactured goods. Instead we sell oil, and when oil price does not meet up, we get broke and take loans. Expolitation of the type above is the last straw.

Many Nigerians don't realize this, which is why we will never get a good leader, because their idea of development is equitable sharing of oyel money. Which does not work because...we are broke.

Keep in mind that even if we get the 46 billion euros that Oseni has calculated, it still wont be enough for this country. We need something that can give us an income , by my own estimation, of hundreds of euros a year...so that we can have a budget that is at least 150 billion euros which would give us the kind of standard of living that we can enjoy.

But like most people, we keep on voting for leaders who promise equitable sharing of the money. Like now, we have tinubu whose slogan was it is my turn...to help share the moni.

Anyway, make we continu. I cannot help people unwilling to see, see.
Asides that the figures are assumptions do you think nigerian exporters of cocoa do it for free? Think

How will that eliminate JV partners? Or do you not realize that the government still has to pay the JV partners their share, even if all production is used locally? Besides, once local production exceeds domestic demand, foreign buyers — possibly including Europeans — will still be needed. Those statistics reflect nothing but outright ignorance of how the economy actually works.

Nairaland people will never make me stop laughing. Na "trade imbalance" you quickly use shine like that?! Heheheh.

Trade imbalance is simply that Nigeria imports more than it exports. Every Nigerian has known that for over 60.years. It's a topic for secondary school students sef. Heheheh.

Okay, he has clapped for your expertise in knowing trade imbalance.

Now, please answer the person you quoted, specifically on this topic as interpreted by Rufai.

First off , the 1.6 million barrels of crude was not free , shell and co paid for mining licences and also pay taxes on it so Nigeria didn't loose , we gained per barrel of oil sold.

The raw materials like cocoa and sesame were paid for and exported, I'm nto sesame ex0ort , no farmer sells for export for free .

I don't know how this dude came to his ridiculous conclusions.
