You are very much entitled to your whatever opinion. But can I ask you a question? Which you you prefer to happen to Nigeria out of the situations?

Flets:
it’s too early to evaluate the impact.

Infact most foreign investors who were not privy to insecurity issues have been desperate in the past few days to liquidate and repatriate their investments.

Trump and US pronouncements have done a huge blow to the Nigerian Eurobond and money market.

Don’t doubt me, watch out for the capital flight in the next 30 days. Investors don’t do well with instability much more such that is backed by the US

As usual, Tinubu data boys will run propaganda riot on this topic as they have been instructed to do so but truth is that both local and foreign investors have in panic mood for the past 1 week

Another period of oversubscription just like with Buhari? Hehe.

Does not surprise me the rates are not mentioned in the article. Hope we're not celebrating going to borrow money at cutthroat rates

My message was actually directed to incurable optimists, people of good will.

People who are determined to be great as the fortune of the country turns around.

People that are not cynics, who wish their country well and who will receive in multiple folds what they wish Nigeria.

Nigerian EuroBond has the most attractive rates denominated in Dollars ($) in the whole world as at today.

Government Bonds are the most secured asset class in the world it Government secured.

You see Propaganda, Story/ Narrative spinning and PR stunts will not help Government especially the PBAT Government.

Do u know it is another way of borrowing internally. They just borrowed for that time duration to loot..What are they doing with all this borrowing should be your concern.
How do they hope to pay. They will next claim the reserve is growing when the shore it up with borrowed money
Only well seasoned investor will subscribe to such offers, and you know that.

You sound aggrieved. The oversubscription is a vote of confidence on the Nigerian economy. That is the real issue here.

That is a vote of confidence in Tinubu and that's simply too much for you to accept.

There has been no massive exit out of Nigeria. In addition, Tinubu said he'll work with the Americans in fighting these terrorists and bandits. The government has failed in eliminating the bandits,.

Important to separate politics from economics or finance
Let me put that in by way of disclaimer
So I am not expressing a political opinion

What is the relevance of whether Americans subscribed or indeed the identity of subscribers?
Also how do you know the identity of investors

YOUR STATEMENT ABOUT SHORING UP RESERVES IS AMUSING

It is obvious you have no clue

Foreign reserves are not government funds and are irrelevant to the borrowing

Foreign reserves are CBN assets not government savings

You are right on one thing we should be concerned what the borrowing is used for

You say it is a way of BORROWING INTERNALLY. What do you mean by BORROWING INTERNALLY
The most important question ,you did not ask

What is the interest rate?
that is the real test of market confidence
Summary you don't know anything about the issue and should be silent

Eurobond is not internal borrowing. Do your research well before jumping to spew nonsense.

Lol, you people just like shouting “they’re borrowing to loot” without even understanding how an economy works. 😂 Every serious country borrows — even the U.S. that you all worship runs on debt. The difference is whether the money circulates within the system or leaks out.

If Nigerians, banks, pension funds, and investors are subscribing, that’s not “looting” — it’s called domestic investment. Government raises funds, pays interest, and keeps the money in circulation. That’s how economies grow and people earn returns.

But trust some Nigerians — once they hear “bond” or “borrowing,” they switch to conspiracy mode. Meanwhile, the same ones shouting will queue up to buy Treasury Bills if they hear it’s yielding 18%. 😂

If you really want to complain, talk about how the funds are used, not the concept itself. You can’t be demanding development and still condemn the tools used to fund it. Pick a side — economic sense or noise-making. 💁🏽‍♂️

Global institutional investors who bought the bonds have more data about the Nigerian economy than 99.999% of Nigerians.

They are not mugus. They know this economy is humming.

The institutional investors don't invest the pensions of millions of Europeans , Canadians, and Americans in yeye bonds.

For the Nigerian bonds to be oversubscribed 4 times over is a deep sign of international confidence in the Nigerian economy.

The irony is that, it is Nigerians themselves that fight tooth and nail on social media to tell the rest of the world that the Nigerian economy is the worst thing since Cain killed Abel.
If the coupon rate is much higher than in 2017 when a similar Eurobond was oversubscribed eight times, then it means this four times oversubscription is a sign of how cheap the offer is.

If a product is cheaper than previously, what does that say about the deterioration of the seller’s business and reputation huh

And the money is leaking out for the Abuja land grabber to buy properties in America where water is available for all houses, unlike the situation in our FCT and commercial capital of Lagos.

PANDORA PAPERS: Buhari visited Tinubu in corruption-tainted London villa acquired by Oyetola

Governor Oyetola, a relative of Mr Tinubu, may have sabotaged his own country by buying the exotic property as Nigeria made to seize it.

ByNicholas IbekweandTaiwo-Hassan Adebayo October 7, 2021 in Headline Stories, Pandora Papers Reading Time: 8 mins read

It was a meeting of two of Nigeria’s most influential politicians in London – President Muhammadu Buhari was visiting political kingmaker and senior member of his ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

In July, the presidency announced that Mr Buhari was heading to London for an education summit. The office also added that the president would also see his doctors for “medical check-up”.

Coincidentally, Mr Tinubu, who had travelled to London earlier, was also receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment in the British capital. So, a perfect setting for both men to meet was created.
