Trump Threat: Farotimi Reacts After Lagos Gov Asked Nigerians To Go Out And Defend President Tinubu

After US President Donald Trump threatened military action in response to accusations of Christian genocide in Nigeria, Nigerian writer and human rights activist Dele Farotimi responded to a statement made by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos state. On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Dele Farotimi expressed his opinion in a post on his official X handle.



The governor of Lagos state urged all Nigerians to stand together and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration in a report that was published on the official X handle of Vanguard. The governor of Lagos state made the following statements: Let us stand up for our government with honour. What they are doing is proper.

The same Nigerians whom were displaced from their communities in middlebelt and there communities renamed after the killer tribes!
The same Nigerians kidnapped daily when traveling and are forced to pay ransom or die,while the security turn a blind eye!
The same Nigerians in the north negotiating with terrorists out of fear and being helpless!
The same Nigerians that has been stricken with acute poverty because of senseless policies of this govt!
The same Nigerians you leaders divided on ethnic ground just for your selfish political gain,its too late in the day!

Something is not adding up about Tinubu' government's defense to Donald Trump eradicating the Bandits.

Tinubu is a curse upon Nigerians and a failure. He brought hardship and all he's concerned about is second term. He shall never get that second term no matter how hard he tries.
