Relatives of popular actress Regina Daniels from the Ogwashi-Uku community in Delta State have given her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, 48 hours to return the bride price he paid for her.

The group also urged him to stop alleged harassment and intimidation of her family members.

The demand was made in an open letter signed by Favour Awele Obi on behalf of the community.

The letter accused Senator Nwoko of disregarding local customs and using his position to oppress Regina’s relatives.

The kinsmen stated that their tradition allows a woman to leave a marriage if she chooses, and her family must return the bride price to end the union formally.

According to them, Regina’s family had made several attempts to return the payment, but Nwoko allegedly refused to accept it.

They said if he continues to reject it, the money would be placed at the Ikeleke Quarter in Ogwashi-Uku, a traditional action that would signify the end of the marriage.

The community also expressed displeasure over the alleged arrest and intimidation of Regina’s relatives, describing such actions as disrespectful to their customs.

The letter, shared online by Regina’s brother, Sweezzy, and actor Stanley Ontop, urged Nwoko to uphold peace by allowing tradition to take its course and ensuring that those detained are released.

Recall that earlier in the week, Regina accused her estranged husband of ordering the arrest of her brother and sister after she declined to return to him.

Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko got married in 2019 and have two sons together.

As of the time of this report, Senator Nwoko has not issued any public response to the letter.

Evey being born is entitled to a period childhood and a period of youthhood. Any one who suppresses his or her childhood or youthhood will experience gaps that will be needed to be filled and compensations must happen.

Regina a child actor sold her youthhood and youthfulness on the altar of money and bed of Ned. Unfortunately, she was more or less idle in Ned's house as she took care of her children and Ned. Now, she is experiencing turmoil and seeks freedom to express her youthhood.

My advice, though unsolicited, is that she should
1. Formally seek a restraining order on Ned while she fights for custody of her children.
2. Take a year out to enjoy her youth: party, club, laugh, connect with real peers, travel if she has enough money. But no drugs, please. Drugs will destroy her and vindicate Ned.
3. Sit and plan her future because after the reggae comes the blues. Decide the pathway to follow: acquiring education while going back to acting or creating quality social media content that focuses less on family drama. Or relocating to start life afresh. Or studying law in order to focus on women rights giving her experience. Avoid wasting this critical period of her life just looking beautiful. No time to waste time.
4. Plan her life independently and away from her family. By the way, her brother should get busy too.
5. Quit saying that she earned so much as a child actor as to sponsor an established politician and wealthy man Ned Nwoko for his election as a Senator. It sounds childish and nobody believes her.

For those saying anyone sold their youth at 18 yrs old the decisions she made is legally binding. You guys should stop making it look like she was coerced into a marriage without her consent or knowing what she was getting into.

Sold her youth kor...if she was married to her age mate would it still be "sold her youth"?

Regina made a big mistake by marrying that ancestor. She was driven by greed & materialism.
There was just no way Regina, with her kind of person, would have been happy & Fulfilled in such a Tenager & Ancestor marriage.

But I still hold Ned morally responsible; if he can't marry off his teenage daughter to an ancestor, why get married to Regina?

Cash out how ? If by cash out you mean the monetary gifts she has been receiving prior yes, if you mean monies she’ll get from the divorce, she’ll only get maintenance money really.

They were only traditionally married no customary court is awarding millions anywhere plus it’s even alien in our jurisprudence.
