DIPF Concludes 6th AGM, Splashes Half a Billion Naira on Spouses.(Pics)

Nigeria's Foremost Social Organization, De Imperial Philanthropic Family, under the leadership of its National President, High Chief Dr. (Sir) Darlington Nwabunike (Eze-Nwakaibeya Ogbabalu Aku N’anwu Ojoto), has successfully concluded its 6th Annual General Meeting and Ascension Night on October 30 and November 1, 2025 in Lagos.

The AGM, themed “The Emerging Southeast: Re-Inventing Its Past Glory,” featured notable speakers including Prof. Obiora Okonkwo and Hon. Osita Chidoka. They emphasized Akulueuno, innovation and a shift from alibi culture to agency culture for regional advancement.

The grand Ascension Night drew top dignitaries such as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu; Senator Orji Uzor Kalu; Senator Victor Umeh; Senator Tony Nwoye; Chief Obinna Iyiegbu (Obi Cubana); KC Limpopo; Abig Nwankwo; and Dr. Frank Igbojindu, among others.

A major highlight of the evening was the remarkable 500 million Naira donation presented to De Imperial Wives — affirming the Family’s commitment to education, health, and economic empowerment in the Southeast.

When I was in school, I was a member of Enactus (formerly SIFE), I was in Rotract Club, in fellowship, I was in the drama group, at the Department, I was the Vice President, and then the Assistant Secretary General in my State Students Association's union.

Oh I almost forgot, I was a Karid entity as well...

Forget the grades I finished with... The experience, connections, leadership and social skills that I got from being a member of these groups has proven to be more valuable than my degree.

Meanwhile, upon graduation, I migrated to Rotract Club.. The first contract that made me my first million came from a referral by a member of the club.

If you can , try to be an island unto yourself. A lot of people join different organisations for different reasons e.g networking, social stand upgrade, trainings, grants, etc. .

If you can survive alone, please do but don't demean people that genuinely join one group or the other.

I rose from the scratch without ever belonging to any association or group, beside Church wey I dey attend only on Sundays. Thank God, on a low key today, my money don reach 10-digit in Naira and equivalent of 7-digit if converted to USD.

Do not get me wrong. I love and keep good friends and I see nothing wrong in that. But you see all these associations and groups here and there, certainly not for me. Who wan help you go help you, association or not. As a matter of fact, if anyone needs you to join their association before they help you, then you are joining a low-key Occultic Group. I don't just understand una ooo. But whatever rocks your boat, ride on it...

While no one has all the answers to how some make money when others don't, I have always believed in 3 things. D.S.F

Strategy
Focus

You must combine these 3 things. None must be missing at all. Sometimes, most of us who are Poor, lack one or all these 3 things.

Unless joining Associations is a Strategic Strategy for you, you will only end up wasting your time and your scarce funds in these associations.

Criminals and thieves

Their formula is to steal billions of naira and then fling off 0.1 percent to the great unwashed in the form of tithes and philanthropy

What Philanthropy have they done ? Giving me 1st bad impression by giving some heavily make up ladies 500m. Have they helped the less privilege in their various environments ? Get kids off the street for education, pay medical bills for less privileged etc.

Hope it's not an occultist org. Those tribe can be really trusted with things like this.

You don't get it. It's not about the power to stop anything. I think he means enabling environment. Lagos sure has that. You won't plan an event and put the venue at Gaza Strip. That's what he's talking about. The East with the news of unknown gunmen, kidnapping here and there might not be that comfortable an environment to host such events as this one.

Memory Lane: the first full-year Lagos State budget (Year 2000) in the 4th Republic was in the region of 40-something billion Naira. And it was described as “unprecedented” back then.
