[quote author=Djdamian post=137384903]Please don't buy EOD.

Get a car with a maximum of 1.8L engine size. The smaller the engine the better for the business(they consume less fuel).

Ensure all other components are working excellently (gear, AC, and of course engine) . Get a technician to check properly before buying( I recommend Autoconsult, he is a nairalander)

All the best [/quote

Ur budget won't allow for the standard of 1.8l I'll suggest.... Worst thing that'll happen to you is buyin naija use wey you no know how much the life remain... 2.4l if plenty fine.... I've driven with v6 and i did fine, I've done with 1.8l as well, difference is negligible if you know what you're doing.... Long story short, make the car no sha worry you, 1.8 or 2.4....if you get a sound 2.4....which you will with 4m eod... Take it over 1.8 that is just there.
Sure it’s Nigerian used car I was referring to if I can get good Corolla or civic for that amount because of the fuel consumption. Because even the Lexus I’m using is 2L engine so it won’t make sense if I go and buy a higher 2.5L. The reason I’m looking for a perfect car for this job is mainly for fuel consumption and maintenance. This Lexus most times I make times 2 of the fuel money ( let say I buy 20k fuel I will be making 20 profit after commission and everything ) although I’m still new to the business and I don’t know anywhere around Lagos. So that’s why I’m asking for car suggestion from the experienced driver here

Good evening great men in the house. I greet you all specially.
Please I’ve been using my Lexus is 250 for bolt/inDrive for like 2 weeks now and I make like 20/30/40k daily (after commission and fuel) depending on how the day is and how much I can work for the day.
Now I want to get a suitable car for the job but I don’t know if I can get a good car with 3.5m to 4.5 which is my budget . I’m looking at Corolla or Honda civic.
Please house I need your advice on the suitable car you can suggest I go for within that price that can serve me for the job. Thanks and God bless you all
.. u can get a clean 9ja used 2005-2007 honda civic 3m-3.5m, maybe budget like 500k-1m for repairs since na naija used.. go with ur trusted mechanic, the truth is that, this is one of the best car for this hustle very easy to maintain, parts are relatively cheap, fuel consumption very low..

And there's the issue of maintenance i mentioned, which you all gladly skipped.... You don't think Say you fit chnage gear or engine down the line abi? With ur 1.8l (the engine are typically more expensive), with the so called change uve 'saved'..... You go come use am buy gear 700k or engine 800 to 900k,where as eod guy go use 300k swap him engine.... This shows the majority of you here are newbies but na una quick to call person lazy driver, una goodnight jare
Hi bro,

I’ve noticed you have a bit of arrogance in you, and honestly, that’s not a good trait because it clouds your ability to reason objectively.
You seem to think Corolla is the only car that comes with a 1.8L engine. Have you compared the parts and engine prices of Honda Civic or Fit with EOD?

You posted a screenshot showing the difference between both engines, and it clearly states that cars with 1.8L and below save more fuel and money, which is very important in the e-hailing business. Did you also consider the resale value of the car you suggested? What’s the ratio of e-hailing drivers using EOD compared to those using cars like Corolla, Civic, Kia Picanto, or Suzuki? Have you wondered why people prefer cars with smaller engines?

Being open-minded is a very valuable skill—try to work on it more

1...arrogance? Becus person bite me, i no gree make e bite more? Pele oh
2. Please let's read the whole thread to end to understand b4 reply... You dey tell me 1.8l is important to ehailing, i tell you say i never drive 1.8l b4? Didn't you see the difference in km is negligible? How else do i explain this 🤦‍♂️? I intentionally didn't mention civic or corolla becus these cars are slightly expensive to maintain, his lexus would have been okay if not for parts price... Resale value, lol there's a high chance after doing this work, ur resale value will be low either way... Unless you buy a 2013 camry 2.4l...and maintain it well... I bought my eod for 2.4m few weeks ago, done a few repairs, I'm nearing recovering my money, by his grace, ceteris paribus, by first week of December, i suppose don see my money wey i use buy am... Wetin concern me with resale value? Eod is cheap to buy, why the hell will you he expecting a high resale chief?
Go buy motor 6m,na you know how long ego take you to see ur money back, for what reason?

There are things that even matter more than the 1.8l....that's location, where you stay.... Person wey get experience, wey dey stay ajah/ologolo/orchid/chevron, with him 2.4l will outearn you with ur 1.8 staying in egbeda or most part of mainland... Most days that 50k some of you are raking about, you fit see am b4 1pm sef, with less kilometres done than someone living in other locations... For most part of mainland, people barely accept ur elevated price, dem no get purchasing power, unless it's bolt giving it to them... Then there's the issue of roads, when i lived in ipaja, i dey work leg steady, fix cracked exhaust, etc... No be profit dey go so? Lastma, barrage of vio and frsc, task force wicked men on the road wey full that side, laying in wait for victims... You'll lack peace and dem go still occasionally get you(profit gone). For the one that called me lazy, it not in driving and working ur self up like a firewo driver... Personally I'll even choose his lexus over 1.8l, cus i know the amount and kind of gigs i got becus of my muscle sports, it was FINE car, i charge like thief and they paid, my packaging na A1, the phone, the dressing, the car, everything, it'll make it difficult for them to lowball in price, they'll accept anything you give them, especially in the locations i mentioned... So personally for me I no go swap a clean lexcus i250 with corolla, God forbid. Money wey i go use the lexus make, no corolla guy no near me at all, so b4 oga 'jjc and lazy driver' label person, we work smart here and with grace... No be by driving like robocop, body no be firewood. No wonder most bolt drivers look half dead, it is NOT nice, learn to give ur self a break, and if ure partner here, take it easy on ur driver, so far na good and honest person sha.

So you can see how much i sold it, basically threw it away.. cus i couldn't afford at the time to change the engine, which was 1.2m( entered visa fraud and some other wahala wey man face) .... Most toyota of that year use same engine and costs close to that amount.... Na 350k i use REPAIR the gear, repair oh.... Wer as to completely change gear of eod is 300k...so b4 you buy car for uber, you check parts cost first, not just fuel consumption.... 2.4l is FINE.

Noted you win 😂😂

EOD na the best car in the world for this business, you fit even see EOD with 20k mileage, untempered engine ,like brand new for 2.4m.

EOD na the most prestigious car for the whole of Naija no other car beats it sir

Honda Civic and Corolla na 6m in short, na 7m sef with bad engine.

Drivers should be paying 20k weekly remittance since them no nor what trips to take each day to help them. In short them for they do 4 trips daily only to protect them from mental health and accident.

And finally ,na you sabi the business pass all of us. Na you know everything sir.

Sorry for your financial setback but Upon all ur packaging, dressing tight and Lekki clients u aren't making 50k daily?
U should stop making noise, u are disturbing d group. U remind me of Bazzo. grin
U moved from Muscle to EOD so u can't relate when someone is telling u not more than 1.8litre engine is d ideal maximum. 2.4 litre engine is not advisable with the ridiculous prices. Except u are considering adding CNG.
How can u call 10k daily negligible. That's 60k a week already. If someone using Corolla buys fuel 30k to make 120k, EOD or Muscle will use minimum 40k fuel to do the same mileage.
U make a good and valid point of cheap purchasing price and cheap engine and gear but that's like ones in 4yrs or 5yrs. Compared to what u buy everyday. I think I will take a more expensive car with better gas mileage to a cheap car with higher mileage.
Do d calculations urself 10k daily for 1yr is how much?
The biggest cost item in this business is fuel, if u can half the cost of running ur car, u are king.

Having said that, OP should go for the cheapest possible car with the best fuel consumption. He can buy EOD and put CNG. Or consider d various mini cars that are cheap and fuel economical.
Personally I would say he should put CNG in his Lexus rather than buy another cheap car that he may regret.

the cost of part for that Lexus too is not good enough if he will go for my advice. Go and get crv 2010 then convert to CNG trust me people will love your car just like the Lexus and the cost of part won't kill also you will get higher ground clearance for all this water prone lekki that come with juicy price
