I switched devices recently and decided to utilise the WhatsApp on that device.

Unfortunately, I got this message and I have been unable to use WhatsApp. I deleted and reinstalled the app but it's still the same message.

Any help will be appreciated.

It's a Xiaomi device. I have re-downloaded WhatsApp and placed another phone number and it worked. But any time I use my phone number it gives the error message in the screenshot. It's as if my number is banned

Apparently the bootloader on the device is unlocked. I have to relock it to fix the Play Protect certification status. This will involve flashing the phone.

I have tried this method. It did not work. Unfortunately, I have to flash the phone.

Even GB WhatsApp did not work on the phone.

How did you "flash" the phone? Is it something you did by yourself or it involves technical expertise?

I'm going through similar experience and would like to know how you were able to overcome it i.e if you did eventually.

My main number is showing to download official WhatsApp despite downloading the WhatsApp from playstore.

I use root checker on the device the device wasn't rooted.

I used another number it works fine no issues but anytime I want to use that my number I get the error I have to download official WhatsApp to login.


Though I checked my playstore protect certifications, it snows device is not certified.

I didn't flash the phone. The original software was no longer available and testing was risky, so I left it and got a new device.

I experienced this first few days after I connected my Watsapp to a referral link like that involved in advertisement stuff and am to earn from it. Two days later, Watsapp banned me, the ban was lifted, they apologized but the number refuse to register on dat particular phone till date, meanwhile my second Watsapp works fine.
