We’ve all had that one engine that never complained, even when we forgot to service it on time. It started every morning, handled bad fuel like a champ, and took Nigerian roads like it was born here. Some people swear by Toyota’s 1ZZ, others say Honda’s engines age like fine wine. But we know engines have personalities, some are tough, some are tricky, and some just refuse to die. I would love to know your opinion on this. What’s that one engine that earned your respect |

My first car back in 2010 was Volvo 740(don't know much about the engine technicalities) Young guy with no experience in car maintainance! Did plenty mistakes with that car yet it refused to give up on me!! One particular incident remains fresh in my memory, drove this beast from PH to Calabar sometime in 2012 to visit wife and kids. The next morning, I came out, dipped engine oil stick and realised the oil was completely dried up!! Just went to auto mart for a 4litre oil, poured it in, started the beast and all was good. Drove it back to PH after more than a week in Cally before servicing!!! Wish I can get that Swedish tank again!!! |

ZickWorldNG:Drove Peugeot 307 for over 70KM without engine oil. The AC vents was bringing out smoke 😱😨. Camry big for nothing 4-cylinder 2AZ-fe , oil shorting crazily, started topping her with black oil, atimes with bit of water for over a year. Till fiter got blocked and vehicle was giving a knocking sound. I changed filter and put amasco, still firing, will be ringing the engine later this month 📌🔥💯 |

ZickWorldNG:2AZ-FE in my camry. it shorts oil but very rugged. The four speed transmission is bullet proof. Ringing it with original rings brings it back to life |

Gotocourt:Man, I can’t believe I drove my Peugeot 307 for over 70KM without any oil 😱! The AC was literally smoking. And my Camry 2AZ-FE… what a pain! Always eating black oil, sometimes even water. Changed the filter, still knocking. Engine rebuild coming this month. Cars really test your patience 😂🔥 |

One ancient Camry I used one time like that. The car no fine o but the engine was super solid. Never had issues, never emitted too much smoke in the exhaust and it's fuel consumption was minimal. The gear on the other hand kept giving us issues and we had to dispose it especially when it kept going even after putting it on park. |

Honda engine. Honda engine, especially Honda Accord (2006 upwards) is the strongest car engine ever made. The only issue Honda have is the legs. Volkswagen Golf 2 is another stone engine. |

N57 Engine. It's a straight inline 6 litre engine with single dual scroll turbo. Came stock with 258 horsepower and 560 newton meters of torque. 8 Speed ZF gearbox. It will do 0-62 in 5.6 seconds. I’d normally use a car for a while and sell it off but this one - I’m driving it till it breaks apart. Enjoyable and fun to drive and most importantly, reliable. |
