Hi bro,

I’ve noticed you have a bit of arrogance in you, and honestly, that’s not a good trait because it clouds your ability to reason objectively.
You seem to think Corolla is the only car that comes with a 1.8L engine. Have you compared the parts and engine prices of Honda Civic or Fit with EOD?

You posted a screenshot showing the difference between both engines, and it clearly states that cars with 1.8L and below save more fuel and money, which is very important in the e-hailing business. Did you also consider the resale value of the car you suggested? What’s the ratio of e-hailing drivers using EOD compared to those using cars like Corolla, Civic, Kia Picanto, or Suzuki? Have you wondered why people prefer cars with smaller engines?

Being open-minded is a very valuable skill—try to work on it more
Hello brother this will be the first time I am commenting on this thread. I give you credit that my first comment is in reply to your view. Honestly I have learnt a lot especially from what you wrote now.

I am planning to start ehailing next year and currently saving up to get a good car.

Everyday I come here to read drivers post with open heart to learn and each time my company book ride for me I always engage the drivers.

Honestly these are my challenge as a newbie;
* The type of car that suits this business
* Location ( I believe I can learn in the job)

the cost of part for that Lexus too is not good enough if he will go for my advice. Go and get crv 2010 then convert to CNG trust me people will love your car just like the Lexus and the cost of part won't kill also you will get higher ground clearance for all this water prone lekki that come with juicy price
he can even get Pontiac Vibe sef. Same engine with Corolla

And person dey shout EOD up and down

The EOD na if na d car u already get before u start e hailing yea u can use it not that u will count money and have your bathe eat and start going to buy EOD for e hailing that's absurd undecided

I greet all the comrades in the house 😊😊😊 I own a barely driven Camry 2010 4 plugs and I've been wanting to enroll and become a driver for like 2 years now but I keep getting discouraged due to stuffs I read here that ain't encouraging, so I've been adamant and went back to Ghana to hustle more, now I'm currently back again due to changes in Ghana now I'm committed to starting this driving fully, I just registered Indrive and Bolt today and they accepted me immediately within an hour so i got happy, any advice for me would be appreciated 🥺 and if possible I'll share my first day experience here as well, I plan starting off next week,I couldn't sell the car back then because I had it as a backup incase things goes south, so now I'm doing this and please welcome me as part of the family here 😊😊😊😁😁

Sorry for your financial setback but Upon all ur packaging, dressing tight and Lekki clients u aren't making 50k daily?
U should stop making noise, u are disturbing d group. U remind me of Bazzo. grin
U moved from Muscle to EOD so u can't relate when someone is telling u not more than 1.8litre engine is d ideal maximum. 2.4 litre engine is not advisable with the ridiculous prices. Except u are considering adding CNG.
How can u call 10k daily negligible. That's 60k a week already. If someone using Corolla buys fuel 30k to make 120k, EOD or Muscle will use minimum 40k fuel to do the same mileage.
U make a good and valid point of cheap purchasing price and cheap engine and gear but that's like ones in 4yrs or 5yrs. Compared to what u buy everyday. I think I will take a more expensive car with better gas mileage to a cheap car with higher mileage.
Do d calculations urself 10k daily for 1yr is how much?
The biggest cost item in this business is fuel, if u can half the cost of running ur car, u are king.

Having said that, OP should go for the cheapest possible car with the best fuel consumption. He can buy EOD and put CNG. Or consider d various mini cars that are cheap and fuel economical.
Personally I would say he should put CNG in his Lexus rather than buy another cheap car that he may regret.
High chief, I've seen the problem some people have is comprehension or lack of, I'm probably just gon take a rest...did i EVER state here that 50k daily is not possible? Eh bros? Abi till i show u wer i did 120k in a day and it wasn't remotely close to ember month? You might have confused my advocating for better working condition for the partner driver to what is feasible long term in relation to proper work ethics... If person talk now, una go say bragging.... For fuel, Did you miss where I stated multiple times that I've used a 1.8l engine? And v6 sef? 10k daily saved, as what? Na sand and fuel mixture the car the use na abi? Perhaps you have a vision impediment too? fuel difference is 1.5km/l, i usesd 47k to fill corolla 1.8L, 54k to fill accord, they both return relatively the same figure, sometimes overlapping sef... So the difference lies in tank difference to fill up, not necessarily the usage... I've used full tank on corolla to return only 90k sometimes(typically lasts 2days),sometimes 150k,sometimes 190k....same with accord...there's a lot of variations and discrepancies in returns and i can CONFIDENTLY say, the return difference is NEGLIGIBLE, do you understand what that means? Eh chairman ? 🤦‍♂️ I can't make you comprehend simple arithmetic , if it still confuses you, God help us then. If you use a 1.8L, we can run real life test if you so choose, cheers

Unless you always buy full tank like i do or some other people do, there's no talk to be had. The difference is not night and day as you're painting it.... AT LEAST FROM MY TESTING, MONEY WEY ADEY SEE WITH 1.8, DIFFERENCE NO MUCH. I'll choose a cheaper to maintain(parts) car than 1.8L car... I know how much dem car parts be, and them no go even beg you.

It ALL DEPENDS ON THE QUALITY OF TRIPS YOU ACCEPT. 2.4l oh 1.8l oh.... Good day is a good day on both engine size, bad day na bad day.... That is my experience.

Thank you for the credit, but I’m just an investor in the business, not a driver. We have experienced people here who do both and understand the business deeply. Ogas like Pearl ,obidi ,kumuyiii too

The type of car you choose really depends on your budget, but ideally, you should go for one that’s fuel efficient. If you prefer something fancier with a bigger engine, you can consider converting it to CNG.

In my opinion, your location should be either Lagos or Abuja, as these cities are the main hubs for e-hailing due to their population size and higher income earners.

bros I beg you with anything you worship,, do not invest that money into ehailing,, you will regret it!!! And secondly you might get stuck for life!!!
Go learn a skill or business and invest that money, there are so many business you can do and still make money without messing up your mental health with ehailing.

bros you are just wasting your happiness, because you are only working for the company and the client,, have in mind that everyone will try using you for their own personal profit.. December will be very profitable, do not play with it, because that's your only month to make up for the losses that will be coming your way from January....
My best advice is to gather enough money in December, then look for another business you are very sure of, sell the car plus your December money, you will have enough to start any business you can think of...

Ehailing will kill your car, keep you on one level forever and mess-up your mental health

Hi Frank,

If you wasted four valuable years, that’s on you, not the business.

The business is just a means to an end, not the end itself. If there were better options, trust me, many drivers I know would move on to them.

Instead of discouraging drivers without offering better solutions, it’s better to keep your opinions to yourself, alright?
