One thing has become clear regardless of claims to the contrary

That thing is that many of those desperate to see the US come into Nigeria, are so because they hate Northern Muslims especially and Muslims in general. As a result, they want to see similar images we've been seeing coming out of Gaza, in the North

Why do I make this claim? Let's take this thread as an example: Ever since the Trump threat, there've been several pages and posts of insults against Islam as a religion and Northern Muslims. If the desire is for the US to come save Christians from terrorist groups, why would anyone insult the religion of the majority in the region?

Fxtrader, despite his crudeness isn't completely wrong. The hate and bile stems partly from those who haven't gotten over Biafra and want Trump to do what they've been unable to achieve for decades now, which is the suppressing of Northerners. In all this, a particular section of the country has been more vocal than even the Northern Christians themselves

On this very thread, anyone believed to be a Muslim has been labeled a terrorist. Shoodboi2, fxtrader2025, IMEI, Alamkiir. It's ironic that those who claim to be standing up for Christians because there's a 'genocide' against them, implying they're being targeted for their faith, are inversely targeting Muslims for their faith

Of course, there are those who are genuinely concerned, but they are few and far between. The majority are just myopic anarchists who don't know the implications of their actions. They're probably too stupid to understand the import of this post

WriteerNg, thanks for this thread. I'll restate this many times, this for me is probably the best thread on Nairaland. Certainly no thread has had my time as much as this one and you deserve a special honour from Seun at the very least. I promised you I won't mess up your thread and I meant it

Hence, this is probably my last post on this thread. I'll still be following though, I just won't be an active poster

There is nothing I haven’t heard from the so-called pleader that has never seen the four walls of a courtroom. Many months ago, the pleader even went on a tirade insulting Muslims and their prophet because he thought that would get to me.

The pleader’s statement is the type of careless talk that gets people in trouble. As a human, your number one goal in life is to keep yourself alive. If you are killed, even if you get justice, you are still dead. So, be smart, be diplomatic, and avoid unnecessary trouble. Do not be a pushover. Do not allow people to cheat and ride over you. But at the same time, do not be an aggressor and troublemaker.

My survival principle has always been the same: When I go to Rome, I behave like the Romans. If I find myself in a community where everyone wears white clothes on Mondays, then you better be sure that you will see me in my white attire every Monday. If the people in the community I live prostrate to greet their king’s goat every morning, you will see me prostrating and greeting that same goat every morning.

That is me paying homage and showing respect to your culture and tradition. And when you too come to my community, then you too better keep to our rules and show respect to my culture and tradition. No culture, religion, or ethnicity is superior over the other. Respect must be reciprocal.

Even if they ignore you the first few times you do it, there comes a time where they voice out. And I feel you have gotten to that point. You can clearly see how you are struggling to justify your anti-Muslim statements. Very soon, you will run under the umbrella of "freedom of speech” to justify your aggressive statements.

As they say, there is freedom of speech, but there is no freedom after speech. The same US government that will tell you it is freedom of speech to burn a Quran will quickly arrest you when you burn a cross, pee on a Bible, or deface a Jewish Torah. You may call that double standards, but it is their law.

Know where you are and behave appropriately. When you go to Rome, it is smart to behave like the Romans. And when you are in Nigeria, it is smart to behave like a Nigerian. As they say, religion is the opium of the masses. And many people take it to heart. Even a very rational person will behave irrationally when a person insults their religion or ethnicity. .

Are they insulting your religion? No. Are they insulting your prophets? No. Are they insulting your religious books and texts? No. Then extend the same gratitude to them and do not insult them too.

It is in school they teach you that your skull protects your brain. In the real world, it is your brain that protects your skull. Be smart. Use your brain to protect your skull.

The people you said hate Muslims are the same people calling out Israel in Gaza. So far, they have been consistent with their morality. Nobody can deny the fact that there's religious persecution in the North with the loads of evidence in public domain. For the fact that Muslims are killed too doesn't erase the fact that Christian are systematically targeted by terrorists. Genocide will be called out wherever it's perpetrated, whether in Gaza or Northern Nigeria. Let's us be consistent with our mortality.
