wonlasewonimi:It would not grind to a halt you merely buy and sell you do not produce and do not grow None of those electronic traders can get a meeting with the CEO of Samsung or Sony The reason Iboes are prominent in those areas is because Gowon brought in the Indigenization Decree removing Indians and other foreigners This is 2025 not 1970 we don't need petty importers if Eboes leave they will be replaced by bigger corporate players |

lionphil:Why imported goods tend to be cheaper than locally manufactured goods is that the countries they were imported from already have infrastructure that supports production. Instead of people to build infrastructure that don't exist here, they would rather import finished goods. When a government slams a ban on importation, they'll become jobless and start wailing. Importation kills local economy as you send your money to a foreign country to support their growth. Dangote builds his seaport, pipelines, trucks, power station and other things that he needs but do not exist in Nigeria. Instead of our people pulling their money together to achieve the same thing, they would rather import and even brag about importation. I just dey laugh una. You people hate to learn. When it starts happening, you will start wailing that you are hated. That's why I don't even take you seriously. As for that Biafra, you must be a child. |

ImpartialGuy:Let me ask, where's Ibeto cement? Where's Elephant cement? Where are the cement companies that existed before Dangote? Aba has shoe factories, how many times has the government used or assisted them? Why are companies folding while others that have operated for years in Nigeria suddenly opted out? What about innoson motors? How many times has the government bought cars from him? What you have currently is a government that has planned to impoverish the masses and it is working. "Ebi n pami" is the new slogan for the Yoruba folks. You talk about building companies whereas your government is hell-bent on destroying them. Make una dey read history, don't just come out to spew trash without looking at what's on ground. As for my Biafra, a referendum will take place and it will emerge. You will witness it and you'll say someone told you before now. Biafra is here Learn to read history... Chatgpt can also help you quickly answer questions. |

lionphil:You are still missing the point because your mind is fixated on the belief you are hated. FYI, government doesn't owe anyone to patronize them. The role of government is to regulate the operations of companies. If you had some a little Google search, you would've seen the number of government agencies patronizing Innoson, including the military. I don't support any government - I just apply a bit of common sense - something most Nigerians l@ck. We didn't go to school just to grab a certificate; we went there to learn how the world works. If you refuse to learn after this chat, that's your call. When they start crying tomorrow about importation ban, I will just mind my business. This comment isn't necessarily for you. It's for those who will read it in the coming years or decades. |
