I thought some people said that he was discharged and acquitted by both the appeal court and supreme court, what's going on?

But Igbo's don't worship anyone, why should the detention of Kanu be making things hard for the easterners?

Many people often misrepresent the reason behind Nnamdi Kanu’s bail issue, ignoring the key event that forced him into exile. Kanu did not “jump bail” out of disregard for the law but was compelled to flee for his life. He was at his father’s compound in Afarakwu, Abia State, when the Nigerian military invaded the premises during the Operation Python Dance, killing over 23 unarmed civilians and even two security dogs. His family home was desecrated, and his life came under direct threat. If Kanu had remained there and been killed by the army, who would be standing trial today—his ghost?

Therefore, it is misleading and unjust to portray his absence as an act of defiance rather than self-preservation. The courts and the public should recognize that the circumstances surrounding his departure were driven by fear for his life, not contempt for judicial authority. True justice requires fairness, and fairness begins with acknowledging the truth.

DomPerignon:
That's a big fat lie.

No court has acquitted KANU of his ongoing terrorism case.

The Appeal court only ruled on the legality of his extraordinary rendition and said it contravened both Nigerian and international law and ordered the FG to return KANU to Kenya and begin the process of rendition within legal means.

The Supreme Court set aside the Appeal court verdict on the grounds that KANU was already sanding trial for serious crimes of national importance and ruled that KANU was first a fugitive at large and that the extraordinary rendition even though an illegality if both Nigerian and international law did not hold because KANU had lost his protection of the court after jumping bail from where he continued his terrorism activities.

I'm not at all a Kanu fan ... I really believe he should be in prison for insurrection and scamming his own people for sure. But every citizen has the right to due process and if correct ... I fully support his challenge to the judgement hand down to him based on charges on a non existent law. Didn't his lawyers notice this? And we wonder why he's been firing them. Let's see how this will play out... I really doubt the DSS and the judiciary will allow themselves to be publicly embarrassed.... by Kanu.

How can you believe the law being used to charge him is non existent?
He has raised this issue and the courts has ruled against him!
Yes, the law was repealed and a new one enacted in its place. The new law also has a provision that anybody being tried under the old law, the old law is still valid!
In fact, I believe he litigated this to The Supreme Court and he lost! So, what nonsense is he doing now?

Nnamdi Kanu has been in DSS detention for almost 5 years. Nigeria has only gotten on every index since then, be it insecurity, economy, corruption, value of the Nigeria and poverty

All have worsened in 5 years of Kanu's detention

But some people believe that it is when the courts finally jail Kanu that Nigeria will be better grin grin grin
I guess you guys were saying Nigeria should get serious with terrorism.

The court is about to pronounce judgement on one of the terrorists in their custody and you are still complaining.

20 November is the day fendi will change to prison wear.

The man is sick in the head and making mockery of the Judiciary and the Judicial system. The Lawyer in the matter should be severely reprimanded. Litigation must have an end. It ends at the Supreme Court.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's appeal is still very much within the ambience of the law.

Some of you are not so bright sad

The Court gave several terms and conditions alongside his bail,
1, no gathering of any type he should organize,
2. He shouldn't be found in a gathering more than 3 or 5 persons .

So there was an information the military received that kanu was conducting an ipob meeting in his house, that's why the military invade that day

It's the reason I said if correct. Thanks for clearing it up. But let me ask .... if I was charged for possession of weed last week ... but today legislation passed whereby possession of weed is no longer illegal ... at my day in court tomorrow... can I be found guilty and sentenced to imprisonment? ( I did note you mentioned the reference to the application of the old law in the new law)

Justice Omotosho gave him ample time to include what he is now asking from the Supreme court to be part of his defense and told him that he either does this or include it as part of his post conviction appeal.

Why can't he present what he claims are repealed laws as reason why his trial should be discontinued ?

Obviously, be asking the Supreme Court to reverse itself, Kanu is looking for how to postpone judgement day that is slated for the 20th of this month. In short, this is another time delay tactics which the Supreme Court will throw away and ask him to return to Justice Omotosho's court and conclude his case and present a formal appeal process after judgement.
Have you guys been able to come up with the constitution that for his arrest?

Was the law truly repealed as claimed by Kanu? Yes.

Was there a Claus in the new amendment allowing subsisting trials to continue under the new amendment ? Yes.

Kanu is therefore just postponing justice, but justice he shall get. For he is being tried on existing laws.

It is funny when people say Kanu committed no crime, but the criminal himself is trying to evede justice by claims of none existing laws and want of jurisdiction. He hasn't denied committing treason or terrorism, but he is claiming no Nigerian laws incriminate his activities.

Time shall tell.

This guy need serious mental evaluation. Kanu is already suffering from Mental Disorder Syndrome(MDS).

Kanu your arrogancy and unruly statement will definitely send you to a life imprisonment. You are in front of a judge you are insulting him and calling the people in the court, the Judge, the entire Nigeria and Africa "Stupid Black African", Kanu we will never free you. You are rude, arrogant, abusive ba? No wahala, nwanem you are going nowhere.

You will come to court 1,000 time, nwanem we will not let you go because you are a red alert to Ndigbo peace and security because you are too full of yourself, rude and extremely violent character- wise, you lack leadership quality.

Putindbutt:
Of course, it's one of his delay tactics but this one don hold am for neck. He has tried everything he could to frustrate the trial at the court but since it has failed him, he thought the Supreme Court could help him. We know the Supreme Court will throw away that useless motion. Since 2024 that the Supreme Court had referred him back to the lower court, it is now 10 days to the judgement that he suddenly woke up to ask the Supreme Court to dismiss hi trial. He knows what is coming and it's not looking good for him at all.

In the first place, the court of appeal was wrong to have ruled in what was not filed before it. Kanu was in the appeal court to contest the jurisdiction of the federal high court. He wasn't there to challenge his repatriation. In law therefore, you can not try what is not before you.

Don't mind those claiming he was discharged. Even Simon Ekpa disagreed to that on his platform.

You can't place a defence without a law backing you. The charges have been amended so many times.

Why did they expunge the BUHARI was DEAD narrative?
