Ellexy:I fully support it. When they say media is corrupt and programming people this is another evidence. I hope DJT gets the full 1bn not a cent less. The same thing they did with the Gaza reporting. Especially a media organization that is funded by public money. Same reason why Trump defunded PBS and NPR they are govt funded but in the D.C. area editorial positions at NPR, he said he found 87 registered Democrats, 0 Republicans BBC Chair Samir Shah has apologised for an "error of judgement" in how a documentary edited a speech by Donald Trump |

Ellexy:One call from King Charles and he will drop the idea We don't pay TV Licence fee of £175 a year to go into Trump pocket The whole country will immediately stop paying licence fee if that happens Although I don't pay licence fee as a principle. I can't think of anything as unnecessary as TV socialism when schools and hospitals are underfunded. It is left to my wife to fulfil all righteousness and give to Caesar what is Caesers to keep me out of magistrates court. |

To be fair Trump explicitly encouraged the 2021 riots all over his Twitter, anyone who followed him would bare witness. The BBC guys just spoonfed the public with the spirit of what he did by joining the letters of what he said. |

afrodoc2:Traffic compliance only work when the likes of VIO, FRSC, LASTMA,NPF,etc., get information about government visits. The rest of the week, those folks just drive with krazee throttles and make ab.normalcy a norm. ![]() You should see Benin, Abuja guys are also becoming something else. |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ibime(m): 1:11am On Nov 11, 2025 |
Bimmarlykay:They are not trying recently with news but they are a lot more than news. They have million radio channels, local TV stations, and as far as education, learning materials for kids writing exams, Sports, history etc, they do a lot. Those guys have even revived 2 extinct languages - Welsh and Gaelic using BBC to where millions are speaking those languages now when hardly anyone could speak them before. I even passed all my GCSEs just by recording and watching their GCSE videos without opening any book. The only book I opened was Maths, Physics and Chemistry. BBC videos did the rest including Biology and all the MASSCOM courses. |

Potential problem brewing in one of the host communities in Omoku, Rivers state. Background story : Sometime last year OANDO bought Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC) from ENI. Prior to this business deal, NAOC had been operating their oil and gas facilties in Omoku community. NAOC provided free electricity to the host community through their CSR and this has lasted for almost 50 years. After OANDO completed full take over of NAOC assets and liabilities, they wrote to the host community ( as the new management) informing them that they would be discontinuing the maintenance of electricity facilities that has made the host community enjoy free stable electricity for years. They quoted a section of the PIA that backs their action meaning whatever decision they have taken has the backing of the law. Now the issue is will the people who have been used to using free electricity to the extent of every home using electric cookers instead of gas cookers just accept OANDO's decision to return them to paid electricity? Some people are already arguing that the free electricity they enjoyed from NAOC is not even enough compensation for the gas flaring and environmental degradation they've had to endure by virtue of their oil and gas facility in Omoku community. I wonder how community will take the news Sha

BlueRayDick:this is what happens whenever a firm is bought over. the new nigerian owners will look at some spend and say we are not doing this. it remains to be seen how they will manage the fallout with the community. hopefully this is a formalty and they have already engaged or settled the community leaders. if not . . |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 8:03am On Nov 11, 2025 |
GloriousGbola:The danger of settling community leaders while the majority of the community are left behind will be very dire. The community will most likely chop whatever settlement the company decides to pay, and the youth may rise up in arms to still disrupt operations of the company's facilities in that community. This move of ridding them off free electricity will affect the means of livelihood of members of the community. People who are barbers, hairdressers, welders, tailors, etc that have never bought generator nor fuel to power their business because they enjoy uninterrupted free electricity will feel it really well. Some of them will just use the small inconvenience as an excuse to fold up their business and turn to crime. |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ellexy: 10:33am On Nov 11, 2025 |
raumdeuter:I watched the House hearing on defunding PBS and NPR and it was another brutal revelatory episode on how biased they are. It’s wild how the Left constantly preaches fairness and inclusivity, yet uses state supported platforms to silence and cancel anyone who disagrees with them. A so called government funded body is heavily biased against one side it's not even close. For all the talks about how the Right is racist and whatnot, the Left is even more brutal and ruthless when it comes to not tolerating dissenting voices or differing opinions they can't police, add that to their develish games of warping reality and distorting the truth. |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ibime(m): 2:08pm On Nov 11, 2025 |
O BlueRayDick:When OANDO were putting their bid together, whoever advised cost savings by discontinuing the electricity provision should be fired. They will lose more EBITDA to maintenance and shutdowns of production than they gain from the electricity savings. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Bimmarlykay(m): 2:12pm On Nov 11, 2025 |
Ibime:That's fair enough. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 2:20pm On Nov 11, 2025 |
Ibime:They probably didn't think it through at all. I'm guessing some cost transformation guy must have sat down somewhere inside office AC thinking one of the reasons NAOC wasn't doing well was the free electricity they gave out to the community. He probably thinks cutting it down will make OANDO the new owners more profitable. |

Spy360:Yes, it was a case of the player being assaulted and then the story was given a sensational headline. There's a video of the player refuting the slitting of throat story, he claimed it was object that was thrown at him. |

Even the DSS guys that followed him sef were silently praying make the show end quickly so they can escort "oga" away before the military boys start shooting up everywhere. |

BlueRayDick:One of the ripple effects of lawlessness. It goes round. I am sure his boss must have warned him to rather die, than give anybody entrance into the land. Wike must be surprised to see someone look him to his face with no fear. I'll advise Wike to just let it go. Whatever they intend to build there will be built, and no excavator fit pull am down |
