Alusiizizi:
Imagine a robot in female form that is ready to give you anything you want sexually, only at 10 percent of what a real female prostitute charges. And to top it off, you don't have to worry about HIV, or contracting some other STD. What would be your pick? Robot or female?
it will never work.
Human touch is very essential in love making

Nothing beats skin to skin with her breathing heavily as her nipples get very hard.
Her eyes her moaning and tongue kissing you with passion.

No amount of advanced A.I can ever replace that feeling. Impossible

I still listen to Uncle Jimi Disu rally his senile diatribes against the government of both Sanwo'lu and Tinubu each and everyday using a manual radio.

Everyone reading this, when was the last time you saw your own hand writings?

When was the last time you actually scribbled something in written form to anyone? Could be your kids, wife, colleagues etc. When?

It is not a dying act but just the times we live in.

Technology ti take over.

Wonderful article.

Some think we are advancing with new technological inventions when in reality we are regressing.

I especially feel sad about the decline of manual transmission vehicles.

In era of self driven cars, you still talk about manual driving? Lmaooo. I remember when people used that to brag, even f1 cars are being reinvented.

Some gear selectors these days are in buttons!

Skin to skin, breathing, nipples, such and such? All these things can be mimicked with silicone, and it wouldn't even be terribly difficult to do. If you were also demanding some sort of interpersonal experience, like chatting(which most guys are expressly uninterested in, especially with a prostitute), then you may have a point. But then again, I hear that ChatGPT can do some interesting things with conversation and junk, perhaps some kind of chatbot can be integrated into the robot as well.

Thanks for sharing

Never knew writing in cursive was ever an academic requirement

But let's be real: who really needs physical maps? (Unless maybe you're a Geography teacher or something)

The part about not being able to memorize numbers may not be true here in Nigeria.

Just saying

Thanks again. That was a nice share...
You need a physical map of there's no data network on phone or phone battery is really low.

The one that pained me is the manual gear transmission that is fading away.

Hmmm

How nostalgic!!

Remember when it used to be a ritual listening to BBC's Focus on Africa and VOA on shortwave radio with all the hassles of interference and fine-tuning.

Thanks to technology, same stations and much more are just a click on an app.
Was an ardent listener.
Even with the difficulties in tuning clean signals; shortwave radio listeners were way ahead of others in global news and entertainment. (Very very sweet then)

No more quality news and current affairs!

But these things are history
The existed first so that today's equipment can exist now.
And if the saying is true, that "those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it"...
... then we're definitely going to hit an apocalyptic event that will wipe away ever digital device,...
.... and we go right back to manual methods of everything.

The only one that cannot disappear completely is MANUAL GEAR DRIVING

there are vehicles that cannot completely be changed to automatic gears, eg TRUCKS and BUSES, many of these will still be driven in manual gears

I am guilty of number 4, as I can't make out time to memorise phone numbers. Apart from my own lines, I don't know any other numbers off head, my wife and kids inclusive. I am not good in memorising phone numbers. Whenever my phones are stolen, it will be as If I'm lost in the wild.

no good in slavery
Duplex90:
The problem with old tech is resources, the raw materials needed for manual engines could make 2 automatic, resources for a radio can make 5 smartphones, we could get 20 digital clock off a single analogue so why go back. Talking about learning instead of stressing the brain on little things a calculator could do rather channel it into more critical decision making which the computer can't do. That's the idea behind these techs, though there's greed behind them too but just like slavery every good has its own evil.

In simpler terms...

Overall INTELLIGENCE and mental acuity are diminishing in the face of technology.

I love today's technology especially A.I, but I always make sure to keep my brain cells active and working by:

1. Reading daily
2. Working out Crosswords
3. Playing Scrabble and Chess

I see your point

But do you realize how confusing those things can be?

If I'm low on data or if I have a low phone battery, I'll rather just ask a fellow human nearby for directions than bother with a physical map

But that's me...
