In countries that have roads and bridges in mountain regions, something like this is a possibility, but an animal in Nigeria will not understand the concept. You think this is Abia state that spent 8 years to build one flyover?

Like I said earlier, in my institution, we recently had a building collapse while it was still under construction. It wasn’t due to poor-quality materials; the real issue was that the land and soil structure were not suitable for a project of that size. The team leading the project was reprimanded for failing to consult a geotechnical expert before construction began.

By the same logic, for a bridge of this magnitude, one would expect that the surrounding land, rock formations, soil composition, and water bed would have been thoroughly assessed before any work started. Common sense demands that foundational studies like these must be done.

Such an assessment could have been done and some unexpected changes will overwhelm your build. Remember mountain regions are very geologically active. Even in your favorite countries, their roads and bridges in the mountains collapse quite often, then they reassess and rebuild, if feasible or shutdown the road permanently, if not safe going forward.

China executes criminals and corrupt people. China will execute the engineers who constructed the bridge if they are found to be corrupt and intentionally did a poor job. But North Korea is reported to execute people over minor offences.

I agree. I alluded to this when I mentioned that someone out there would end up being executed. One does not go about executing someone for a failed project. You execute someone if he or she is culpable for a failed project and in this case, it is most likely the case.

Someone failed to do a proper job evaluating the terrain thus putting lives at risk and the nation in disrepute.
