I just feel sorry for that soldier now because when he will be redeployed to Sambisa, those hailing him now won't even be aware. His job there was illegal. You all just can't seem to understand that the military is powerless in the face of politicians. The military have to asslick politicians to get things done.
Who will redeploy him.?

Someone was given orders he obeyed and you said they'll redeploy him. Wike will send him to sambisa how? Does transfer for a soldier come from office of fct minister.

Oga wike should hold his L strong because the only civilian person that could have made that soldier move from that spot was president tinubu in person ( commander in chief of the armed forces ). Even shetima he for bounce am.

That's a Fool for Insubordination against a Representative Of President and Commander-In-Chief Of Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria ....

You swore an Oath for Nigeria not For Being a Boyboy to Superior Officer ....

That's a Minister of Federal Republic Of Nigeria!

The minister can just go about accessing private land because he is a minister. He has no right. If he had presented a court order then he should have presented it. You can't go to someone's private property with police because u are minister.
Who told you the military officer owns the land? The FCT is responsible for allocating land and no one else. If FCT officials say the guy has no authentic allocation paper, then that’s final. They own the land. Nobody has the power to use the military to stop officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration from carrying out their legitimate duties. In fact, those naval boys should be arrested and prosecuted immediately.

What the soldier did was wrong.

I know, so I will say this...I am not a tinubu supporter and wike is a awful minister of the fct with corruption all over him

But he is the minister of the fct. And if a soldier is disobeying a minister of the republic, and people are hailing him because tinubu, it shows that people who are in opposition are just as lawless as those in government.

Obey constituted authority

But then again we have a habit in this country of not following the rules and authority. Whether we support tinubu or not. See MC olumo

But the fact that we have a government of essentially bad people does not make yerima action right

Would those praising the lieutenant be doing so if it was an Obi appointee as fct minister? And would those critical of the lieutenant be praising him if obi was president?

We are so blinded by politics that we don't want to do the right thing.

Like I said, if you read this and think I support tinubu, think again. I would say this if it was obi as president or anyone else . If you like , support the lieutenant. Don't complain when you see a bad situation right. Like I always say, apc won't have been in charge if opposition was united.
Many people don't understand how the military works. A soldier obeys his superior. The only civilian that they can change an instruction is the commander in chief of the armed forces.

Soldiers ideally are not beholden to civilian authority. Why do you think they have court marshal's and do not try their cases in the normal courts.

The rule of the military is to obey the last order even if it involve losing their life. He has to obey the order from his superior.
The overzealous wike should have called his superior.

I learnt after embarrassing himself he called the chief of defense staff who told him to back down.
That was why he left after making that call

He should be disciplined immediately for professional misconduct. His behavior was completely disgraceful and unacceptable. In a democracy, the military take orders from the civilian government and not the other way round.

The land in question is vested in the minister and no one else. That place is not a military barrack. It is a land that is governed by civil authority. Immediately the FCT minister ordered him out of the place, he has no reason not to comply. Preventing the FCT minister from accessing the land is the height of irresponsibility. It should never happen again.
Someone says it as it is .

We are all just too emotional in this country. Fine wike is not very much liked , he used a foul language yeah , now does all these diminish his office? No.

It will be interesting to watch what will eventually happen.

I doubt if you aware the same scenario happened to Sanwo Olu and Police officer.

Meanwhile, the 2 scenarios are different, why the senior military officer came on his own to disobey traffic rules, the navy here was posted there by higher superior officer, it's Wike that is not supposed to be arguing with low ranking officer that far below him, he supposed to leave there or call higher authority to order them to leave the place, but since he is egoistic, he wanted to force and he was degraded.
You call a lieutenant low ranking

You will like everything. One single accidental shot in the melee, he is gone.

The young officer is acting on orders, does Wike want him to disobey the order?
Wike could find out who owns the land and handle it at that level.
Person wey no too well de go drag with young office.

So if the superiors orders them against civilians, you go cheer for am.

Let's not support wrong because it is.wike looking like the joke he is. Lord knows I don't like that man, even right from when he was a minister , then Governor. But as a minister he is the superior of the soldier

I am not saying this because I am defending tinubu or wike. I am saying this because we are now a civilian government.

Taking your argument to it's extreme , we can have a situation where soldiers don't obey civilian ministers because they have their orders. We can even end up saying that the army is superior to civillans. That's how we ended up with army government and with all sorts of abuses

Plus, there have been times the army has been ordered by senior officer to treat civilians like trash. Do we now say that it was right because last order?

Today na wike, yesterday it was the Shiites , tomorrow it could be you and me.

Forget party, and as obnoxious as wike is, he is still the superior of the soldier as a minister of the government.

Solid points.

The bolded is the summary of the whole matter.

Now I really hope they have their correct papers though because If the FG wants to send a strong message on this matter e go long oo.

Even if they do have correct papers what if they now decide to revoke the land ownership citing overriding public interest.

This is unbelievable! You are proud of the shocking abuse of power by the former Chief of Naval staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, who deployed armed military personnel to shield illegal construction on land without title or approval, and threatening FCTA officials?

What a shame!!

You are perfectly right anyway, but what's right in Nigeria? Everything in this country is awkward and zig zaggly done ....in the first place, why would an ex Navy Chief ordered that young officer to be manning a building site, that's an awkward task for an officer of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria, that he's been paid from citizens tax. That's bad enough and shouldn't have been, you don't ordered an officer to go carry out a task beside the regular defence job in which he's been trained to do. His first loyalty is to Nigeria and not to be a maigaurd to an officer building site ........nothing goes well in this country anymore.....more reason you see a senator of the Republic fighting over a girl he abducted at 17years of age and still sitting as a Senator of the Republic till now......should have been suspended tey tey when discovered she was 17years when cornered into marriage..........
How about the large number of police ur minister carry as entourage everywhere he goes.? Is that normal?

The Minister should have understood that the Lieutenant is a military personnel and not a civilian or paramilitary personnel. He would have just walked away knowing fully well that a military man does not take order from a civilian.

False.

So called military men are duty bound to obey any lawful order from properly constituted civilian authority.

Any military personnel who thinks otherwise should stay in the barracks and never come out.

But honestly, with the kind of citizens we have, we don’t deserve a better nation. Our sense of right and wrong changes with our emotions and who’s involved.

When the powerful use soldiers outside their lawful duty to oppress ordinary citizens, we all shout, protest, and cry foul.

But now that those same soldiers are being used to intimidate the FCT Minister the chief executive of the capital city from doing his lawful job, suddenly, because you dislike Wike, the soldiers have become heroes?

Please, show me where in the Constitution or The Military Act it says soldiers have any role in land protection or civil disputes.

This selective outrage is our real problem.
Hahaha, you sef see am. It's only wrong when it happens to our beloved or those on our side of the political divide.

He ought to be court marshalled ..he and who ever game him the order ...the minister is senior in rank to his own chief of naval staff.a Governor is much more high ranking in civilian Government than a chief of army staff ..his equivalent is the minister of Defense..who the chief of defense staff still reports to..this is totally wrong and should be dealt with . soldiers has no say in civil matters especially land .
